Spring Break 2015

The hotel was in an excellent location, it is a very nice hotel. The lobby is fancy looking and air conditioned, the pool and bathrooms in room need a little updating, but other than that the location is right where everything is happening and the hotel staff is very friendly.

Awesome Hotel for the Price

The hotel was very clean and the staff were nice and friendly. I would Definitely stay here again. It's right in South Beach so you can walk to all the bars/restaurants. And its a short walk from the beach.

Miami!

The hotel was nice but needs a lot of updating. The bar staff was really cool but the pool was bleh. Thank goodness for the beach! If you are looking for a place to change and sleep, this works!

Perfect walk to the beach

My best friend and I enjoyed our stay at the Carlton. It was the perfect distance to everything. You cannot beat being blocks from the beautiful beach!!! The staff was also very friendly! The room was clean and spacious. Perfect for coming in and out of the beach and from a night out. Would definitely stay here again!!

A comfortable, affordable hotel with awesome staff

Overall, this hotel offers a great value. It is conveniently located near the beach and Lincoln Road and the rooms were comfortable at a very reasonable price. The hotel manager (Luciano) was extremely professional and nice, and the hotel and its staff were very responsive to all of our requests. Overall, we had a very nice stay thanks to Luciano and his expert team. Plus, as we were told, the hotel will soon undergo a major remodeling so this should make it even more impressive once it re-opens!

Nice hotel,very close to the beach

It was a nice hotel,just wish we would've been warned abt the renovations going on. But besides that,it was great. Beach is right behind,and so is ocean blvd. And it is a decent walking distance fr Lincoln road.

Bday get away

The only thing that was good about this hotel was the price & location. When I first arrived the hotel couldn't find my reservation. The hotel had a funky odor & needs to be renovated. The rooms could use a lot of TLC. Old beds with no headboards, iron stains on the carpet, old carpet & the doors to the rooms could easily be broken into. No fresh towels & wash clothes were stocked daily & neither was clean linen. If you only plan on using the room to sleep & shower & not stay for more than 2-3 nights then u should be ok. If not...don't waste your money.

I loved it...

I really liked this hotel. The only thing that was missing was an in-house restaurant - however once you step outside of the hotel you are surrounded by plenty of restaurants. This hotel was one block away from the nightlife, the beach, shopping and a couple of blocks away from Miami Ink and Lincoln Road. The rooms were clean and refreshing, the pool had ample shade as well as sun, and the service was great. It was a nice quaint boutique hotel that I would recommend to others. The price was very reasonable.

A place to sleep

noisy, because of street activity. Very old and outdated, but we did learn that they are going to completely refurbish this hotel and it will become part of the hotel that it backs up to. They are adding two more levels and the pool will be on the roof. It will take about 18 months from now, May of 2015. Sounds like it will be very nice. Beds were comfortable:)

It was horrible!

The hotel has a foul smell. My room didn't have hot water . I had to force them to change my room. The room they change us too had a leak coming from the ceiling fan. Just BADDDDDD

Die Lage des Hotels ist 1a . Die Zimmer waren sehr dreckig und das Inventar beschädigt. Für den Preis das mit Abstand schlechteste Hotel in dem wir je geschlafen haben. Nicht zu empfehlen.

Second time around was just as nice as the first!

Stayed here back in 2007, and again this week, and had a great stay, thanks to the friendly and accommodating staff. Their white on white on white linens and towels made it reassuring that everything was clean, as sometimes hotels recycle their linens because they have prints that don't let you see stains lol. My room and bathroom were extra clean and uncluttered, which makes my trips that much less stressful. I have stayed at other, more expensive miami hotels, and have not been half as satisfied with their service, cleanliness nor accessibility.

Old and worn out...

Traffic noise, and the alley in the back are ridiculous. The rooms are old and worn out... Cheap furnishings.. Whole place needs a redo. Find somewhere else.

Good location. Terrible service.

The location is where you want to be but there is not one good thing about the hotel at all. We arrived and our room had no water. Shower, sink, toilet did not work. Tried to call the front desk- the phone didn't work. Had to go back to the lobby to find help. Maintenance was sent but unfortunately the man did not speak English.... Well that's great. Finally get the water working but it's only scorching hot. Had to pack up belongings and move to a new room. Which was pretty much 4 walls and a bathroom. Worst hotel experience, ever.

Nice place for relaxation.

Upon arrival I was informed that the hotel would be closing for renovations in two weeks. Although the need for upgrades was evident, it still was not bad. A plus was having a pool at the hotel and the team worked to provide good service in spite of everything.

The room was disgusting. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We did not end up staying here we were in the room for not even 5 minutes. Everything was stained including the beds, floors and towels.

Close to the beach.

The room was dirty. Iron stain on the rug. Was afraid to walk barefoot. There was hair on the bed. The room smelled. The tub was a bit dirty. Noises coming from the bathroom. It was the water running. We tried shutting but it would just continue to run and make a screatching sound.

Yuck but walking distance from everything

We arrived at the hotel early. The staff at the front desk said we were able to park in the lot complimentary. Well when i checked out I found out that wasn't true! The man at the front desk charged me despite my telling him what happened the first day...AND he was rude about it. The hotel did not seem clean to me. If you are looking for a comfortable vacation room, stay away! If you are looking for something that is walking distance from basically anything worth going to in South Beach....I would still look elsewhere!

Don't do it

I had a horrible experience at the Carlton. My reservation was canceled without my knowledge the day before my trip and the manager was not helpful at all. When I tried to book again for the same dates they said they could not accomodate my stay for the entire time. The room was very small, and the rate that they charge is not worth the accomdation. I am extremely displeased with my stay.
