Oh my gosh I don’t even know where to start. This is by no means a 5 star hotel nor worth the price. I understand it’s in Miami so it’s going to be expensive, but being from a Midwest town this was comparable to the worst motel in our town.
The staff at the front desk was ok, but the initial contact was with the valet man and he was rude, pulling up to check in was stressful because there is no real area for us to unload, it’s just a parking spot in front of the building, so you’re pressured to get your things and get the car out of the way. However, the valet man when leaving was extremely friendly and helpful during our stay with helping us access the car to get things out.
We booked 2 rooms which were in separate buildings from our children. Fine, I wasn’t worried as they’re older and can handle it.
However, getting to our room was just awkward; walking down a small sidewalk, through a restaurant, up a small staircase, through a door and up another corridor of stairs.
OH. MY. LORD THE SMELL!! When you check in and walk up to the main building there was an overwhelming fragrant smell but the second you walk the secret passage into the restaurant it was AWFUL. All the way up to our room, the hallway AND our room. The air hadn’t been on and the room was so musty and everything was damp, including the bedding!! The pillows were so damp and thin. We bought candles and Febreeze at CVS and it did nothing to help.
