"We stayed with a group of friends over the superbowl weekend. We have stayed here before and we loved it just as much the second time as we did the first. The owner makes things easy for those who stay from her communication with you to the checkout process. The amenities are amazing. We had a great time and we will stay again!"

"My family of 14 people needed a place for all of us to stay for the holidays. The twin turrets was a great fit for what we needed. Everyone had their own bed, the bathrooms took a little time to get showers scheduled, since there are only 2 showers, but it worked out. The home was fun to explore inside and out. We went for some walks on the trails, enjoyed watching the ducks and geese, or just looking out at the lake. So peaceful! "

"This is a wonderful place to get away from it all and just enjoy nature and the company of the people you are traveling with. Bird watchers will especially love the barn willows, red headed woodpeckers, blue grosbeak, Bobwhite, and more. Stores and the historic downtown of Saint Genevieve are just a short drive away. Along with many wineries."

"A great home base to explore the area. We brought our food and prepared breakfast a d supper there. We packed a lunch and hiked at Pickle Springs, Hawn State Park, Silver Mines, and Elephant State Park. On a rainy morningg we walked around to the shops in towtown"

"Absolutely perfect rental home and process. All amenities and AC worked flawlessly and communication was clear and accurate. We enjoyed the weekend with plenty to do in town. The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen was spacious. The outdoor fire and bbq area is well kept and has room to spread out. Would highly recommend and will return! "

"We had a family wedding at Pebble Creek Farm, just 6 miles away from The Roost. Ten of us including aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews had plenty of room at the house to get ready for the wedding, and to gather for snacks and games in the kitchen afterwards. Everything was really clean and comfortable. We would love to come back here and stay for a winery weekend! "

"Perfect get away. This place is about as authentic as it gets. The photos are great, but the true rustic feel can only really be grasped in person. The host is very accommodating and has put a lot of thought into his hospitality. There are chickens that supply eggs. We received honey and bread. It is quiet and so relaxing. We already want to go back. "

"The Dufour House was the perfect house for us! As sisters, we wanted to stay together and the house had everything we needed and more. We spent time on the back porch talking and enjoyed walking to coffee shops and restaurants that were minutes away. We were intrigued by the history of the house and the community. So much nicer than staying at a traditional hotel."
