With 700-720 metres above seal level, Schnett in Thuringia is one of the highest localities of the upper woodlands, where snow is guaranteed. The charming town is located on Mount Simmersberg's southern slope and from its summit you can enjoy the panoramic views over Thuringia and Franconia.
Newly renovated, this cosy holiday home is fully equipped for a comfortable stay. Healthy living materials provide well-being throughout the house. The holiday home is located in a traffic-calmed one-way street. In the summer you can park your car right in front of the house, and in the winter you can use the public parking lot, which is approx. 150 metres away. Excellent shopping opportunities for the daily needs are close by. A 5-minute walk takes you directly to the Rennsteig hiking trail.
The comfortable living room invites you to linger. The panoramic view will help you to unwind and forget your worries. You can end your day sitting by the cosy fire burning in the fireplace. Countless possibilities await visitors in the summer as well as in the winter season. At an altitude with a relatively high snow guarantee, one can ski down the slopes without a long wait at the ski lifts. This is a real advantage of the ski areas in the Thuringian Forest, and they are therefore attractive winter sports destinations.
The Masserberg region offers three ski lift systems in Masserberg, Fehrenbach and Heubach. The extensive net of ski trails, cross-country skiing trails and winter hiking trails as well as a 400-metre long and well prepared sledging track round off the leisure programs. Popular excursions: Sea Aquarium Zella Mehlis (25km), Weimar (70km), Erfurt (60km).
