Even the local McDonalds closed in 2013 and no one seemed to mind. Instead, you will find excellent food, well poured pints, and a range of high end brands.
The wealth of the area has allowed many independent shops to thrive. Longstanding bookshops, grocers, butchers, and cheese shops continue to be run by the same families and have been passed down through generations.
It is a refreshing contrast to other parts of London where large chains have taken over. Hampstead has a strong community feel and that sense of character shows no sign of fading.
Getting Around:
Hampstead sits within the borough of Camden in the north of London and is well connected to the rest of the city. The area has a major bus terminal at Hampstead Heath in South End Green and several underground stations including Hampstead, Belsize Park, Swiss Cottage, and Finchley Road.
Hampstead Heath Overground Station is only a six minute walk from the property. From here you can travel south towards Richmond and Clapham Junction or head east towards Stratford.
