This was our 3rd stay at the city sleeper, but the first to leave us disappointed.
Whilst the room was up to standards and met our needs we were frustrated and disappointed with a few accessible needs.
In the reception area there is a lift marked with a wheelchair sign and a message saying to ask staff if assistance is required to use the lift. As my daughter had her power add on attached to the wheelchair, this would mean she could just roll in and out of the lift as it is larger. However, we were informed that this lift "wasnt for disabled guests but disabled staff and doesn't go to the floors with bedrooms!
All very confusing bearing in mind the sign insinuates its for guests and to ask for help.
The other lifts are very small for a wheelchair user and I had to manually move her chair to fit in.
The second issue is in relation to the accessible parking. Its super to see the buttons for the doors to the car park being at an accessible height but again, highly frustrating that on our return to the car, there was a van parked so close to us which resulted in my daughter being unable to get her wheelchair to the car door and certainly there wasnt enough room to open the door fully for access. Instead, I had to reverse, blocking access to others, whilst she got in. This could easily be avoided by painting a yellow box next to the spaces like most car parks have. This was stressful as she had just been discharged from Great Ormond Street & just wanted to get home!
