"The staff were great - friendly and welcoming. The room was on the small side but we were only there for one night, and it was clean and comfortable (and the view of the hills was lovely). There was a large fan provided, which was very welcome given the heatwave that was taking place that week, We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. A perfect place for an overnight in the Lakes."

"The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. I think Expedia have been misleading not detailing the facts about that particular...

"A wonderful old country house for an overnight stay. The staff were exceptional, from check-in, through evening meal, to check-out. Welcoming, friendly and professional. We had an excellent meal in The Grill. The view from our room was spectacular."

"Room was on the roadside so no view and lower than the road so.o0eming the blinds meant people being able to see down into the room. Staff were friendly but their system for checking was odd, just a section at the end of the bar and online check in didn't work.so had to re do all the details. Breakfast system to order gluten free or vegetarian was to order at the bar not in the kitchen and then they brought it to you but you had to go back to the kitchen to get the rest of the meal. "If you book a room with an outside hot tub double check you don’t get the Troutbeck room. The balcony is awful! Firstly, it is overlooked by a loft window above, so limited privacy and able to hear any conversations. On one side of the balcony there is two shipping containers stacked on top of each other, the other side an unkempt wall with a water feature attached. The water feature clearly hadn’t worked for sometime and was full of stagnant water. We raised this issue immediately but nothing...
