Duckburgh - Ocean view, Updated, 2 min. walk to the beach

Duckburgh is an updated one bedroom and two bath condo located just seconds to the beach din Duck, NC. It is a 2 minute walk to the beach! Being steps from away the ocean, beach, and pool allows you to easily walk and not worry about lugging beach equipment and toys in a cart or a car.
Our condo is on the 3rd floor with fantastic, expansive views of the Atlantic ocean and beach in the Colony by the Sea Condominiums. You can often see dolphins from the newly renovated 10x14 deck. New porch swing added in 2024.

Duckburgh offers a master bedroom with a comfortable queen-sized (new in 2018) bed, hallway twin bunk beds, modern kitchen, two full bathrooms (new in 2018), two flat screen TVs with cable and Xumos (similar to ROKU) (living room and master bedroom), pull-out couch, DVD player, WiFi, Keurig Coffee maker, drip coffee maker, ceiling fans, dining table for 4, keyless entry system, and much more. For 2024 we updated our deck to include a wrap around railing, new screen door, and a deck box that contains boogie boards, sand toys, and beach chairs for guests to use. All windows/blinds and sliding glass door were replaced in 2025. Brand new shower floors in 2025 also!

Please note our condo is on the third floor of a three story building with stairs and no elevator- we do have wonderful views! The property is built on pilings to manage potential floods and there are 17 steps per flight of stairs.

The beach is only steps away from our condo! Our condominium community has many amenities. There is a pool (unheated), outdoor grills, basketball and tennis courts (bring your own balls and rackets), pool side restrooms, oceanfront showers, gazebos, and coin operated laundry facilities under the building ($2.00 per load - same for wash and dry).

Duckburg is located just minutes away by car, 15 minute walk to the town of Duck, which has some of the best Outer Banks restaurants, shops and a sound side boardwalk. Bring your bikes -it is easy to bike into town with the bike lanes! There are bike racks at Colony by the Sea.

Corolla is about 10 miles away and has more restaurants, shops, go karts, miniature golf, and plenty of activities for children. The grocery stores are 6-7 miles away.

Remember to bring your own towels, sheets, pillow cases and other linens you may need. You do have the option of renting all your linens. If you like - I can recommend a company that will deliver and pickup all your linens. The company also has other beach and baby items you can rent, if needed.

Duckburgh

Wonderful property and excellent host. Everything has been updated and is in great shape. Very clean and host is very attentive. Property is on the beach with easy beach access right by the pool. Bonus restroom on the property right by the beach access which is very nice. Kitchen is well appointed with everything you need if you want to cook. Would definitely recommend to our friends.

weekend stay

Visited for a long weekend with a friend. one of the best locations in Duck. Close to the beach, ocean views and a pool are perfect. Also super convenient to restaurants and shops. My only suggestion would be to upgrade to smart tvs but otherwise great propert.

Weekend Getaway

We had a fabulous time! The condo was exactly as described in the listing. The balcony is a great way to pass the time while watching the waves roll in and you can’t beat the quick walk to the beach. We would definitely recommend Duckburgh!!

Really good

The property is lovely, very close to the beach and a short walk from the boardwalk and some great restaurants. Our main issue was that linen/towels etc weren’t included. As we flew in from overseas we couldn’t bring it with us and hiring at our expense was an unexpected cost which we felt should have been covered in the cost of the stay. We run a short-term let ourselves and provide all l Kinen, towels, tea, cider, shampoo etc. this would have made the stay 5*

Great Stay!

The condo was perfect for our family of four. The updated bathrooms and kitchen were nice. We loved the porch swing and extra hooks! Our girls loved using the boogie boards! We will definitely stay here again. Go Steelers!

Duckburgh was cozy and welcoming. The property owner was readily available to answer all inquiries and gave excellent restaurant recommendations. Just a short walk to the beach and to local shops. Our daughter was especially fond of the porch swing and enjoyed snacks while listening to the sounds of the ocean. It’s the perfect place for a beach get-away.

We loved our stay at Duckburgh. This unit was perfect for our family of 5. We loved how close we were to the beach and pool. It was only a 10 min walk over to the Duck boardwalk and shops. Great location and nice condo.

Great place to stay

The unit was very clean and updated and had tons of hooks to hang things, which I appreciated with our 4 kids. The view and location to downtown Duck were great. The pool was warm with lots of seating. The owners were very easy to work with, communication was great! The only thing I’d mention is for anyone with issues climbing stairs, maybe look for a unit on the first level.

Great Little Condo

We really enjoyed staying at this condo. It was a great size for our family of four. We loved the ocean view from the deck, the playground and the quick walk to the beach! Excellent and fast communication with the property manager as well. Would stay here again.

Perfect Location!

We had such a lovely stay at Duckburgh! The location is fabulous with only a few minute walk to the beach. It's also convenient to the main area of Duck, which we loved. The condo is clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The master bedroom shower was great, which isn't always the case in rental units.The hosts are so friendly and helpful and very communicative. We absolutely loved the deck and the view of the ocean. It was such a relaxing spot to listen to the waves crashing in. I loved reading out there. We would definitely return to this condo and recommend it very highly. Such a great spot!

Fantastic Stay

The stay at this location was amazing. The condo was a small walk to the ocean and had a great view on the deck. The stairs kept me in great shape as well! Overall it was nicely suited for 2 people and would go great for a group vacation as well. The property owner reached out to make sure all was well multiple times and was fantastic to work with! Couldn’t recommend this rental enough.

April Vacation

The condo unit was exactly as described and pictured! Although not in one of the buildings that are directly on the water, we could still hear and see the ocean (including dolphins!) from the deck with no obstruction. It felt just as close as the beachfront building where our friends were staying in the same complex. We were able to use the newly installed grills, and the condo unit had everything that we needed for that!

Best place for a couple to stay when visiting Outer Banks!

The Condo was spectacular! Everything as described. Beautiful view of the ocean and a short walk to the beach. Duck is best area to stay when visiting this region. Nice restaurants and shopping near condo. Corolla is a short drive to the north, definitely worth spending a day in. Thanks Mindy! We appreciate you!

Perfect weekend getaway

This condo on the top floor of the complex was perfect for my weekend getaway. I could see and hear the ocean from the balcony, and the porch swing was my very favorite spot of all. This place had just the right vibe for me - clean, comfy, modern, and close to the beach.

Perfect getaway!

We visited for a quick weekend away and this was the perfect place! Great location in Duck. Beautifully decorated and had everything needed in the kitchen, including a teapot which is often forgotten! Quick walk to the nice wide beach. It was wonderful to be able to sit on the balcony and watch the waves. Can't wait to visit again!

Our Duckburgh stay was perfect

Duckburgh did not disappoint. My husband and I spent 3 days after tropical storm Ophelia, and so glad we braved the turbulent weather. The remainder of our trip was perfect and sunny! This place had everything we needed including a full kitchen which I'm ashamed to say we didn't take advantage of since there are so many good places to eat nearby. Also, great selection of cable channels and WiFi access. Very clean and well decorated, we felt very comfortable during our stay. This place is also very quiet and secluded even though it's a short bike ride to shops and restaurants in the nearby town. Yes, you have to bring your own linens but I usually do anyway unless we're at a hotel. The steps are manageable and we even got used to this 'good exercise'. Make sure to bring coinage if you want to use the washer/dryer - unless the app is working now. But that was the only inconvenience. Our host is the top of the list for the most responsive hosts we've come across with any of our overnight rentals. She calmed our Ophelia fears, ensuring we were not coming into a powerless flooded island after a 5 hour drive. Do this place! It's worth any drive, even in iffy weather. Oh, not to mention, bring some kitty treats in case you meet the nearby friendly cats who the staff take care of!

Cozy Beach Getaway

Check-in was at 4 PM. The owner let us know it was clean and ready for us at 11 AM. The early availability helped us avoid the resort area traffic. The views from the back porch were gorgeous and there is even a little bit of a view from the chairs right outside the front door. The beach was just a couple of minutes walk away along the boardwalk with two accesses. You can watch the sunrise from one of the two perches atop of the dunes or from the swing on the spacious back porch. The property is well maintained and priced well. This third floor gem will not disappoint. Wish we could have stayed longer!
