"We chose this property for its proximity to the Highland Games we were attending. The property looked nice on the website, and we saw that it had a restaurant, but everything about it exceeded our expectations! The room was beautiful (our compliments to the decorator) and we loved the Victorian high tank toilet. Each course of the meal was more amazing than the last, and from the awards on the wall I suppose we should not have been surprised. Our hosts were exceptional and we loved learning...

"Exceptional in every respect. A beautiful house. An enchanting location. Fabulous breakfast. But exceeding all of that, such wonderful hospitality. Thank you Joyce and Garry for your warm, generous and kind welcome and for your support during our stay. We’ll remember our couple of days with you for a very long time, and hope to visit again should we ever return to that magical part of the world. "

"Outstanding place to stay. Super comfortable, the hosts were really nice and welcoming, beds were very comfortable. Couldn’t have asked for more. I’d give it 7 stars if I could. Will definitely be back. Thank you Tomaz and Daniel!"

"We have stayed at The Boat Inn at least 5 times now. We just keep coming back! A very professional set up and extremely comfortable. Staff so obviously want you to have a good time and will do all they can to ensure that you do. Rooms are very clean and beds so comfortable. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, though it would have been good to see more vegetarian options on the menu. Breakfast is excellent. Aboyne is a very good base for exploring Deeside, Speyside , Stonehaven and Donside...

"Room was spacious, and quiet. People of the town , Tarland, are super nice and helpful. Breakfast delicious, and a lot of food. The service was above and beyond. Also, the dinners are fabulous if you decide to eat at the restaurant downstairs! We hope to be back!"

" This was not just a castle BnB, this was a real authentic experience back in time. We were warmly welcomed by the Baroness Nicola and her husband and were instantly brought back in time. The Castle was beautifully decorated. We had a very large room with a 4 poster bed and a large bathroom. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We chosen to have dinner at the castle and would recommend that anyone staying here should do the same. We had a delicious meal served by our host, who was dressed...

"The waiter serving 13/08/25 is fantastic. Stayed here a year ago, he remebered me, is very polite and attentive but not overbearing, profelfessional and down to earth. The reason I enjoyed my 1st stay. The front of house Charlie, is also fantastic, down to earth, personable and professional. The chef, begind closed doors is also clearly very good at their job, having stayed a few nights and sampling various parts of the menu, everything is very nicely cooked, presented and tasty."

"We stayed three nights at the Hotel Square in Tomintoul. Although this is an older facility which could use a few updates to rugs, curtains, etc., we were very happy there. The hotel is clean, beds are super comfortable and the rooms are large and supplied with everything we needed. Breakfast was very good! Most importantly, the staff was friendly and helpful, providing great service. We had a lovely stay!"
