Stunning oceanfront cottage

This beautifully restored one-of-a-kind oceanfront home has all the charm of yesteryear with the added conveniences and sustainability of today. Meticulously appointed and private, the views and location are spectacular. The Guardian newspaper has listed Kona Moana Hale as one of the Top Beach Houses in the World.

Completely renovated, this updated home has hardwood floors, granite countertops, koa cabinets, stainless steel appliances, air conditioning, iHome docking stations, Bose outdoor speakers with Bluetooth receiver (to pair your own devices and play music), iTouch pre-loaded with various Hawaiian music, wireless internet, full size washer/dryer, brand new California king bedroom set, luxurious bedding, hdtv plasma in great room and bedroom, gas bbq, teak lounges, etc etc. All lights are on dimmers so you can create your own environment and mood. There's even an indoor switch to light up the water at night to create a spectacular view!

Ideally located overlooking Kahaluu Beach, you are within feet of the best snorkeling and surfing on the island. (If you do surf or stand up paddleboard, you can paddle straight out and be in the break in less than 5 minutes.) Dolphin sightings are quite common. During winter months, whales can be seen daily as they swim by.

Uniquely situated on a 9000 sq ft oceanfront lot, this home is a one-of-a-kind. You will experience complete privacy with expansive views up and down the coast. (We also own the property next door where you are free to pick papayas, bananas, etc. or just sit and watch the sunset.) While there is so much to do on the Big Island, you will have a difficult time pulling yourself away from your home and the incredible views and sounds of the ocean. You will find this special place to be relaxing, rejuvenating and inspiring.

Upon arrival you will be provided with tropical flower arrangements, kona coffee and an assortment of fresh fruit. Playing softly in the background is Hawaiian music accompanied by the gentle sound of the ocean. The setting is nothing short of amazing.

The house is lovely, well maintained. It is equipped with everything you may want in the kitchen, storage baskets in the bathroom, jackets for the trip up to the volcano, thoughtful touches throughout. The location is nothing short of amazing, perched right above the crashing wavesand the endless mesmerizing sea. A wonderful getaway!

This property lived up to its exceptional reviews! We explored the entire island, and this location was perfect for our numerous day trips. The home was beautiful... clean, well maintained, and fully stocked with everything needed for at home and day trip activities! We spent most of our time on the deck enjoying the ocean view in the oversized swing. Our host was excellent in every way when we reached out to her. We will definitely be back!

Wow. What an incredible experience!!!!! Such an amazing property. Literally steps from some of the best snorkeling on the Big Island. We saw turtles, whales from the living room windows, surfers, and some amazing sunsets!!! Yvonne was amazing to work with… we were there for the once in a lifetime Kona Low strorm. She and the property manager Henry ensured all of our need's were met and safety was prioritized!!!! We can’t wait to return to this magic gem.

I couldn’t say enough great things about this rental. It exceeded expectations in every respect. The house has everything we would have wanted including good condition snorkel gear, a kitchen and pantry stocked with all the basics and appliances. Perfect!

This was our second time staying at this property, and I can't imagine staying anywhere else on the Big Island. The house is right on the water with a huge west facing, partly covered deck - this is the perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee, watching the surfers and the pods of yellow tangs nibbling at the waters edge, and taking in the beautiful sunsets in the evening. They have added a swing seat hear which makes it even more relaxing.Location is ideal - far enough out of Kona to be away from the crowds and traffic, but close enough you can be at restaurants and downtown with a 10 min drive. Safeway is a 15 min drive away.The house has everything you need (including ample beach equipment), was spotless, and check in/out was a breeze. Host is very responsive and helpful. 100% recommend!!

Beautiful view and accurate pictures. We had a pleasant stay. It was nice having an extra half bath also. The kitchen was well stocked and also fresh fruit was left on the counter for us! I do wish they had more of a privacy/sun shade curtain in the master bedroom. Overall our stay was very nice, and we would definitely stay here again.

Super Location, Super House, Super Aloha

Absolutely Fantastic....my wife and I have been vacationing on this strip of Ali'i Dr for over 20 years (at several different VRBOs) and this place lives up to all the reviews. The house is beautiful, clean and is so private for the location. We struggled daily with leaving and getting in the car. Why go anywhere else?If you are a stop at Costco first vacationer, the house is stocked with almost everything you could need - zip locks, paper towels, batteries, tupperware, etc. The only kitchen tool we couldn't find was a meat thermometer for grilling.On a side note: Kahalu'u bay snorkeling has more volume of fish/turtles and types of fish then 20 years ago. The Reef program is doing an amazing job.If you're looking for Aloha, book it, this place delivers.

It's An Incredible Property!

Oh how we love to return to Kona Moana Hale! This property has been a favorite of our for years. The cottage is spotless and the location is wonderful - close to what we feel is the perfect beach for snorkeling. Combine that with an owner who clearly cares about visitors, a lanai with fabulous views and a Hawaii area that restores souls...it results in wonderful memories.
