"Large rooms with comfortable bed right on the beach. Easy walking to many tourist shops and many restaurants. Lots of fresh seafood available from these restaurants. Staff was very friendly and eager to help with a smile. The restaurant prepared a seafood grill each night and set tables with candies at the edge of the surf. Breakfast was very good with lots of fruit and an omelette station as well as curry. Can’t go wrong staying here. "

"This was like a piece of tranquil paradise in the middle of Galle Fort. It’s excellently located for exploring the fort and the building is beautifully preserved and offers excellent and spacious accommodation. We loved the room with a garden balcony, as we could watch and hear the world go by from the comfort of our room. "We were really looking forward to staying at Green Villa but upon arrival they said there was a problem with the room and they were completely booked so had to book us in a hotel next door. The place next door was dirty and only half as nice. I went back when I saw they had availability the next 3 nights and they were able to put us in a ground floor room (I paid for a balcony) but it was still nice. "Stayed here many time. Staff amazing and place really beautiful. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Unawatuna. Good Wi-Fi in communal areas (doesn’t quite reach all rooms). The eco friendly question hotels.com asks is difficult to answer. They give lots of bottled water, which I guess isn’t very eco-friendly - but that is what tourists want. I guess maybe if they had a large central water dispenser people could refill bottles for that would reduce plastic use. I think some tourists might complain...
