Dirty apartment in its worst condition

We booked the apartment for 7 nights for 4 adults through Wotif.com. Upon arrival we were told the apartment only accommodating 2 adults. So bedding suits, cutlery, dishes were all provided for 2. However extra sheet was given on day2 and blanket on day 3 (the blanket was extremely dirty and we couldn’t use a night. It had big yellow marks on it and very smelly. They changed it with another room’s, on day4). We did not get enough pillows as reception said they don’t have extra ones. The couches were extremely dirty, smelly and stained. We had to throw a sheet on to be able to use them. The floors were sticky and weren’t mopped. There were no dining tables. Shower door would not close properly, so water would run into the bathroom floor. The water pressure was extremely low at night so could not use the shower nor the toilet. At the checkout the staff checked the room and insisted to overcharge us for using the minibar. They wanted to charge extra for wine and soda water, etc that we did not even touch. So be careful and be in the room while they are checking it at the end. Very very very poor customer service and communication. The only good thing about this appartment was its location in Nisantasi. However would never recommend these suits to anyone and would never return.

Disappointed

The apartment was spacious and felt like home, but it was not kept clean. The floors were not washed once in the 9 days we were there, and housekeeping seemed astounded at the idea when we asked them. The bathroom ceiling was leaking from the bathroom upstairs and only a feeble attempt was made to repair it. You could see the problem had been going on for a long time and had already been repainted without the underlying problem being solved. Also, I learned that just because a room is listed as non-smoking, it doesn't mean you won't have smoke coming under the door and through the vents. The whole building, hallways, elevator were reeking of smoke at all hours. So much for a designated smoking area. We were disappointed and ended up moving to a smoke free, clean building we found. Took two weeks to get refund for days not stayed but charged on entry.

The hotel was centrally located and we could walk to eateries and shopping easily. We found this affordable eatery and in our 5 day stay in town ate dinner there 4 times and we had the same lamb chops each time - and I never liked lamb.

Very enjoyable stay

The hotel was very good, especially the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and spacious. Location wise it was not too far from the main attractions of Istanbul. Over all it was a good stay for our family.

Fantastic service.

Recently I stayed with my family at Home Stay Home. It was a wonderful experience. It's a new building , very neat and clean and high security cameras & the personal door to the apartment had high security locks. The apartment was very comfortable with nearly everything that you need for your stay with a family. The housekeeping service was excellent, we used to have breakfast every morning before we left for sightseeing etc, when we returned all the dishes were done, the whole apartment was tidied from shower to the bedroom. The location was excellent, there was a supermarket just outside to buy anything you need. Metro station, Osmanbey, was about 10-15 minutes away. The reception is 24hrs so no problem, whatever time you get there, there will be someone to receive you. It costs less than £20 to get there by metered taxi. Next to hotel there was a 24/7 taxi stand, you could book taxi anytime. There were lots of good things about staying here. If I visit Istanbul again, I will definitely stay here again and recommend the same. The staff at Reception were very polite and hospitable.
