Overall, our stay at Surf & Sand was okay. The ocean view was beautiful, and the room was clean and comfortable. However, there were several areas that fell short of what I would expect from a five-star hotel. The soundproofing was quite poor—we could hear loud music and noise from a party until fairly late at night, even with all the doors and windows completely closed. The front desk setup also seemed inefficient. There was almost always a long line at reception, and the triage/queue system did not seem to help much with managing guests or reducing wait times. Dining options at the hotel are fairly limited, which means the available restaurants can get extremely crowded. The most disappointing part of the stay was the lack of a nursing/lactation room. For a five-star resort, I was very surprised that there was no private, designated space for nursing or pumping. This is a basic amenity that would make a significant difference for families traveling with infants. Overall, the property has a beautiful location and great ocean views, but the guest experience and amenities could use improvement to better match the expectations of a five-star resort.
