"We stayed at Bum in the Sand in early September 2025 and could not have selected a better home away from home for our group. The house was luxurious, the kitchen well stocked, and the location was perfect. Steps to the beach, a short walk to the boardwalk. The pool was even closer. "We love staying at the Sandlot! This was our 3rd year renting this cottage and we have already booked it again for summer of 2026! "We had a great week at the property. Even with 29 people it was spacious enough for all. Access to the beach was nice, and the pool and hot tub were a big hit. The upstairs fridge was having a hard time making enough ice, but we bought extra. The one negative comment is for the outdoor grill, it was disgusting. "The house was awesome. It’s in a great location and the beach is easy to access. Overall, my family had a great time. I’d recommend bringing extra beach towels as even though the listing mentions them, there weren’t enough for everyone. Also each person gets one bath towel and one wash cloth so if you feel like you need more or don’t want to wash towels regularly, I’d bring extras. We look forward to coming back next year!"

"It was a fun experience to stay in such a unique spot. My teen and I enjoyed the kayaks at sunset. And waking up to that view was lovely. Our hosts had a lot of nice touches with the coffee station, snacks and nice bath products. (And while the location is a little unusual, road traffic wasn’t really too bad with the air conditioning on.) it was really cool to stay right on the water in a former fishing cabin, while still being easily able to explore Swansboro, Cedar Point and Emerald Isle.
