"Comfy room, generous towels. Arrived late Friday evening, no bother getting a table in the pub downstairs for food- they don't take table reservations, so I wasn't at a disadvantage. Good wide choice on the menu and attentive service. There was a nightwatchman for after hours- what a treasure! He showed me how to access once the pub was closed, helped me empty the bags from the car and carried them to our room all with a friendly, nothing was too much trouble approach. A real asset to the Old...

"The place was very popular with locals so parking was a bit awkward, we arrived after 6pm and there wasn’t much room to park. Maybe one criticism would be there isn’t reserve parking for staying guests and after travelling 140 odd miles and to be faced with hunting a parking space was as I said a little awkward. But that shouldn’t take away from what was a nice place to visit great food and a generous breakfast, clean room comfy bed."

"Nice spacious and very clean room. Well facilitated with a tea tray and bottles of water. Room was immensely hot but thankfully able to open all the windows. Liked fresh cooked breakfast (as opposed to usual buffets) however I would love to see a better drinkable coffee being served and a little gripe - after requesting hard poached egg with no ‘snot’ my egg was totally snotty when I cut it and ran into my breakfast so didn’t eat much. "A lovely welcome, quick and simple check-in. Plenty of free parking outside each room. Clean room, excellent powerful shower, comfy bed with fresh linen. Quick service in the restaurant, full & varird menu and attentive staff. Comprehensive breakfast with tasty, well-cooked food. Well recommended! "

"Property clean and convenient to Seaham. Two short flights of stairs to rooms with 3 sets of doors to go through. No lift and no help to get luggage to room. Registration at bar and staff was busy with patrons so check in and out took time. Parking on site. Security good. "

"Lovely staff, all friendly and proud of the Inns History. We were there on a very quiet night! Lovely large room with a 4 poster bed and excellent bathroom with walk in shower. Breakfast beat us, freshly prepared as we came down. "

"Lovely pub and staying area next to it. We booked here as it’s a dog friendly place and enjoyed our stay. The team at the pub were brilliant, they were shutting the kitchen early as it was a quiet January Sunday (so totally understandable) but we managed to get an order in and the food was great. "
