My husband and son took advantage of the kayaks available, I took advantage of the seats on the deck ;) The hosts left a lovely welcome bag with treats and activities for our son. We would definitely stay again if visiting this side of the state! "

"We had a great week on Long Lake. Chet and Lauren have done a lot of work on their property, and it shows. The cabins were very quaint, comfortable and clean, especially the beds. I like that we brought all our own linens and bedding, I feel that is more efficient for both owner and guest. The lake, the use of the resort's aluminum rowboats (we attached our own motor), grills, firepit and outdoor furniture made it a fun, relaxing week and we all agreed we would definitely like to return to...

"This cottage was cute as can be! The beds were comfortable, although not queen beds. One kid slept comfortably on the couch. We could see the lake from the front of the house and the kitchen. We enjoyed sitting in the chairs at the front porch, hear the water as you watch people walk by or drive by in their golf carts and waved. It was a nice little neighborhood. Its relaxing to be close to the water, and there's a little boat ramp a short walk away where there were people fishing and the kids...

"Had a very peaceful vacation, the lake was nice. Cottage was clean and had everything you could need. Only issue was whoever stayed before us did not clean up after their dog so I had my kids pick it up. Lol overall a great family vacation "

"Had an enjoyable stay at Black Lake. Cottage was clean and furniture comfy.. There are quite a few stairs to get to the lake which provided beautiful sunsets. My spouse and granddaughter enjoyed the kayaks which were on site.Kitchen was well stocked and provided all we needed to prepare our meals. Two lovely decks enhanced the stay. "

"Beautiful, quiet, peaceful. Close enough to Alpena that you can experience some of what a city has to offer, far enough away that you have peace and quiet. The kayaks got put to use on the river and everything that we could need had been thought of. Plenty of dishes to use. Plenty of chairs to sit by the fire. Plenty of firewood to burn. Check-in was stress-free. We met the host for a quick tour and they were available via text if we had any need. Cell reception in the area was spotty,...

"We extremely enjoyed our stay here! Especially the sunroom. We are repeat visitors. The beach is right outside the door, beautiful and private. If you need things to do, the rec room is absolutely full of games and ping pong and foos ball and darts and everything you could want. There are also 3 refrigerators! This year, we actually ventured out and took the glass bottomed boat tour!"
