"Room was clean and tidy, bathroom was spacious (in previous occasions I've been assigned smaller bathrooms in which it was difficult to get in/out of the bath). Very quiet room even though it's next to the main road. I'd like it more if they provided the usual hotel amenities in the room (e.g. a bath cap). Breakfast is quite nice, a continental and full English buffet. Overall, I like the place."

"The location is unbeatable for the historic dockyard (30 mtr) and gunwharf quay and rail station. Good breakfast nicely cooked and tasty. The rooms are to a modern decor with fans for the heat, as there is no air con. We had room 25 which is small, but adequate. The bathroom is the smallest I have ever had with a basin that is tiny. Good shower cubicle that takes most of the space. We would stay there again but not in 25."

"This is the 2nd time I've stayed here at The Raven and it certainly won't be the last. The staff are all fantastic, friendly, helpful, and even though they are all busy they are all really cheerful and take time to interact with you. Yes, admittedly the rooms look a little tired and dated, but they are clean, have everything you need and more importantly I sleep like a log here as the bedding is lovely and the beds extremely comfortable. "It is clean but there was a big spider crawling on the bed frame. Asked the receptionist for help they came but they did’t caught it as one of them was more scared than the spider. You can clearly hear the sound of closing door of nearby rooms. So you can wake up with the loud banging noise."

"Ideal location for visiting Southampton, there are some nice pubs only a short drive away. The breakfast was good lots to choose from. I stayed in the quadruple room on the top floor. It was big, spacious but a bit hot so we had four fans running. Very good overall"

"Useful location but very close to the A30. Nice hotel/former coaching Inn with friendly welcome. Plenty of parking. Good breakfast. The good size double room had a kettle with coffee bags, fan, hairdryer, iron and ironing board plus large TV. The mattress was a bit too firm for our comfort though."
