Galiano Oceanfront Cottage, Book now for spring and summer!

Situated in spectacular Whaler Bay a quick 5 minute walk from the Sturdies Bay Ferry Terminal and all amenities - A calm serene bay with stunning views down the bay and beyond, perfect for swimming, paddle boarding and launching your kayaks or canoes. View our resident kingfisher perched on his pole, otters playfully frolicking stirring the glass-like water, watch for 'Sammy' the seal who comes round in the evening to check things out and watch the herons skillfully fish for their dinner. Galiano is also the perfect spot to see the many pods of whales that travel through our waters in the summer time.

We are available for rent year–round. So cozy–up to the wood burning fire and enjoy a good book in the winter or sit out on the deck with a refreshment on those hot summer days.

Recently redecorated bright open–space living & dining area with a cozy fireplace. Fully furnished 2 bedroom cottage, 1 queen and 2 double beds, and 1 full bath. Our fully supplied kitchen comes stored with dishes, cookware and appliances so you don't need to worry. The fireplace is a cozy accessory for those crisp winter days and fall evenings. The large 300 sq. ft. deck is the perfect place to relax on the deck chairs and enjoy the beautiful sunsets and views of spectacular Whaler Bay. There's also a propane barbecue so you can grill up your summer faves.

Enjoy the bounty of Provincial Parks, spectacular views, and wildlife every where you go and breathe that fresh island air. The natural beauty of Galiano Island invites relaxation, exploration and excitement.

Indulge in a bottle of wine and perhaps head down to Montague Harbour and pick up a fresh catch of local seafood the island has to offer.

We thought the cottage was beautiful. We found the lock code a bit tricky. The dish towels need to be replaced, getting very old/tacky. There was a short power outage, we could not locate flashlights or candles. However, it was very close to bedtime so not a real worry. We got our refund in a very timely fashion, thank you. And thanks to our hostess, Andrea, for all her help!

We had a fantastic stay at the cottage. It was clean and well stocked with all that we needed. The location was ideal; right by the ferry with easy access to shops and cafes. It was also a quick drive to various beaches, the grocery store and Saturday Market. Our young kids enjoyed wading in the bay with water shoes when the tide was high. For swimming, we drove to nearby beaches. Andrea was easy to communicate with and responded promptly to any questions we had. All in all, we had an excellent time on Galiano!

Very cozy and comfortable cottage equipped with everything you’d need. The water was lovely and warm for swimming when the tide is high. Convenient location close to the bakery, general store etc. we loved our visit to beautiful Galiano!

This cottage was so lovely—well equipped & so sweetly decorated. It was right on the bay where we were able to watch the seal, the osprey & eagles fish. The deer & her 2 fawn visited regularly. We had constant birdsong & calls. Hummingbirds also visited regularly. We went on daily walks/hikes. We were close to the grocery store, ice cream & Sturdie Bay Bakery (yum!). Definitely a wonderful vacation!

Beautiful stay

What a beautiful waterfront property! I was here with 4 friends and it was the perfect little getaway. Location is ideal, we could walk to the ferry terminal and some of the wonderful shops and cafes and a bunch of trails from the house. To be able to sit by the water with a morning coffee is idyllic and the open fire is a huge bonus!

Studies Bay Waterfront

Nice home on Sturdies Bay. It’s a long drive to the north end of the island if your event is there (like ours was). Finding the house was a bit tricky when it was getting dark, but once you know where it is it is very convenient.

Perfect escape

It was better than we expected! So peaceful, convenient, beautiful. We loved watching the otters, deer, raccoons and herons on the beach. It was a perfect escape for our family to relax and reconnect. The house had everything we needed and it was clean. Watched some vhs movies and read some new books.

Great vacation on galiano

The house was lovely and in a convenient location. The bay is a bit murky for swimming but great for paddling and there are lots of nice swimming beaches a close drive away.

Beautiful spot for wildlife, relaxation, and easy access to all amenities.

Great location, perfect spot for wildlife watching from the window and raised terrace, The highlight was seeing 6 otters all together on the jetty just tens of metres from the house, plus 2 fawns regularly in the garden, racoons, hummingbirds and kingfishers too. Only a short walk to all of the amenties you need, and a very short drive to great look-out spots on Active Pass. The property was exactly as described, only better! My only suggestion is that it would be great if there were kayaks for use too.

Galiano mini vacation

Hi, We arrived in time to see the Kingfisher which was exciting. In the morning we saw a Bald Eagle catch a fish right in front of the cottage. This was all within 12 hours of our arrival. The cottage was as depicted in the photos. The kitchen is very well appointed, the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom is lovely. We would definitely rent this cottage again.

The cabin is located right on a quiet bay a mere 3 min walk from the village centre. It is perfectly located for easy access to the island's highlights. Watching local wildlife from the cabin's windows is the perfect way to while away many hours.
