San Juan Bliss

The home is nestled in the trees and right on the water. The multi-level decks provided opportunities to enjoy the tranquil and expansive views of the water and surrounding islands.We enjoyed all of our meals outdoors and took advantage of the hot tub and sauna before enjoying the sunset and blanket of stars in front of the gas fire pit. Minutes from the marina in Friday Harbor, Definitely a 5 star experience!

Amazing trip

Bright, cozy home with a phenomenal view. Convenient location close to the shops and restaurants in Friday Harbor. Host is friendly and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend for couples or small groups!

A Magical Stay at The Paddle Shack!

Our stay at The Paddle Shack was absolutely unforgettable. It was everything we hoped for—and more! I stayed with my 7-year-old, and we were both in awe from the moment we arrived.The outdoor space was perfect: yard games, a hammock for relaxing, and a hot tub that made for some cozy evenings. One evening, we watched a family of orcas and two humpbacks right from the deck—truly breathtaking. We also spotted countless bald eagles throughout our stay. Nature lovers, this is your dream spot. We were able to walk to the bottom of the deck and see bioluminescence right in the backyard. It felt like a dream! Inside, the heated bathroom floors were such a treat, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook and feel at home. Every detail had been thoughtfully considered.Duncan and Karen were incredibly kind and helpful, offering great advice before our trip and making us feel completely welcome.10/10 recommend—already dreaming of our next visit!

Wow, wow, wow.

We've been to the San Juans several times. This lovely peaceful quiet home with a simply gorgeous view was a pure delight. The kitchen was equipped wonderfully, the beds were great and we loved every minute. I wish we were still there! Thank you. Wow!

Peaceful Escape

Our family of four had an amazing stay! The property felt isolated, yet we were less than 10 minutes from town. We saw eagles, ducks, foxes, sea otters, seals, crabs, and porpoises, all from the balcony. It really was magical and there was so much to do on San Juan. I recommend this property for anyone that loves nature, craves peace, and seeks adventure on the island! Bonus- the owners were so considerate and accommodating. Wonderful hosts!

If you want a beautiful view, this is your place. Amazing deck, hot tub, & sauna too!The beds are comfy, bathrooms are tidy & nice showers. The owners have taken a rustic shack & updated it nicely. Kitchen has everything you need, all newer appliances & adequately outfitted for those who like to cook.Communication with owners was great. They got back to us immediately & sent somebody out to answer our questions.We will definitely be back!

Dream getaway

The property location was perfect. The house and amenities were an absolute dream. We stayed on the property for 2 out of our 3 day stay and were never bored. We bought groceries off the island to save money and had everything we needed to cook in the kitchen. The wildlife, hot tub, deck and sauna was enough entertainment. From the huge deck We saw harbor seals, harbor porpoises and so many gorgeous birds including bald eagles. The house was immaculate and has all the nicest touches including spa robes and heated tile floors. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience

Fantastic home and host!

This property was beautiful. It was everything my husband and I wanted for a quiet get away. The home is within minutes of town, and while there are neighbors close by the space is very private and quiet. The hot tub and sauna were a nice addition. Very clean and comfortable. For dog owners with *picky* dogs - because of the homes location, there is not much of a yard so we did have to walk our dog up the road until she found a spot she was satisfied with for going #2, but that was not a big deal to us at all. The outdoor space is where we spent most of our time and it was so relaxing and peaceful. We would absolutely stay here again!

Perfection on the Salish Sea!

We had the best week here! Perfect little house with the most amazing view over the ocean. The house was lovely, the hot tub was perfect, the home was so private, immaculate and clean, and the kindest hosts we've ever worked with. They even helped us reserve a great day kayaking with Outdoor Odyseas. Such a fun day! Thank you Duncan and Karen for an amazing stay on San Juan Island!

Peaceful Paradise

I stayed here over Labor Day weekend with my dog and we had the loveliest time. San Juan Island is such a beautiful place and this was the perfect base camp to explore everything. The home was easy to find which was helpful because I arrived in the dark around 11 pm. All of the instructions to enter and use the amenities were easy to follow. Well stocked kitchen and incredible wine glasses!!! I won't forget this view.

Wonderful

Photos really don’t do this property justice. The house is beautifully decorated and the deck is just incredible. Anything you could possibly want or need has thoughtfully been provided. The owner is very helpful. Be sure to read the owner’s suggestions - We’re sorry we missed out on the Seafood Shed and the recommended walk to town. Only glitch - the access instructions we received from VRBO for the smart screen were not quite accurate.

Amazing Location!

This house was exactly as described, if not better! The decks were amazing and we enjoyed spending time on them all day. The views were fantastic - we did not want to leave! Location was also great. We brought bikes with us and were able to bike downtown in less than 20 minutes. The amenities in the house were perfect and it was fully stocked. Beds were also great and we all slept well! Looking forward to staying again 😊

Exceeded Expectations! Just Wonderful!

This is hands down the nicest vacation home rental we have EVER stayed in! The property is set far back from the road on a very quiet dead-end street, yet a quick 9-minute drive right into Friday Harbor (easy access to restaurants, shops and a grocery store). You can't get any closer to a waterfront property than this. We saw lots of harbor seals and an otter right off of the deck. A bald eagle flew about 20 ft. right over our heads. The interior decor looks like it was the work of a professional decorator - beautiful and consistent throughout. Everything is in excellent, top notch condition. Appliances, linens, kitchen supplies and cookware are all top quality and brand new. Check in was a breeze - all communication with the owners was timely and professional. I would highly recommend this rental! I hope future guests will recognize and be respectful of the quality of everything about this home and continue to keep it in such nice condition.

A Waterfront Oasis!

My husband and I got away for a much-needed short get-away and decided we wanted to keep it closer to home than fly somewhere. This amazing home stood out as the perfect get-away for us on San Juan Island. It's location, size, amenities, cleanliness, and excellent owner communication were second-to-none! The view from the decks were stunning, from sun-up to sunset. We saw eagles and a pod of Orcas swimming by. We had fun exploring the island from Lime Kiln State Park to Roche Harbor. Yet our favorite spot was coming home to a beautiful sunset while relaxing in the hot tub and sauna. This is truly a San Juan Island oasis! Thank you for everything - we had such a wonderful time!

Relax- Cook- Read- Puzzle - Soak- Repeat. 10/10

What can I say that has not already been said? You need to look no further. This is a perfect spot for a couple and their small dog (us). The owners are incredibly responsive, and just after a few conversations, they are all-around great people. The Deck is outstanding—the hot tub and sauna with views of the passage are what you come to the PNW for. A morning cold plunge in the salt water and then a quick warm-up in the sauna is at your fingertips at this property. They have thought of everything when it comes to the house. Bedding is great- kitchen is stocked, there is even a milk frother- which my wife loved. It is secluded but minutes from town. What else? Book it? Your only regret is going to wish you booked it longer. Thank you, D&K, for such a great weekend getaway.
