K'gari (Fraser Island) is accessible by 4WD only and a Vehicle Access Permit will be required from QPWS BEFORE arriving on the island. You need a 4WD to access the island and onto the barges, so you won't be able to stay at My Island Home unless you have a 4WD

EXPERIENCE FRASER ISLAND

You need a 4WD to access K'Gari, all roads on the island are sand as well as the beach driving so you won't be able to board a barge without a 4WD.

Eurong is central (and not tide relevant) to a number of most beautiful lakes (eg Lake McKenzie, Lake Wabby, Lake Birrabeen, Lake Boomanjin), lush rainforests (eg Central Station) and pure crystal clear creeks (eg palm and fern lined Central Station (Wanggoolba Creek), and the numerous bushwalking trails. You can enjoy the beauty of the island ranging from desert-like sandblows, unique and awe-inspiring lakes, exploring the many scenic drives on the island, 4WD adventures, and along the eastern beach some attractions are Eli Creek, the shipwreck of the Maheno, Indian Head and Champagne Pools, the coloured sands and all the way to the lighthouse at the far northern tip of the island. During your stay you may get to experience and see some of the wonderful wildlife on the island including turtles, whales, dolphins, stingrays, sharks, dingoes (said to be Australia's purest), and the wonderful birdlife.

10 of us stayed and the house was perfect for us. The location is great and the house had everything we needed. Everything was clean and tidy especially the kitchen and bathrooms. So much so I am re-booking and we will take wives next year..... that should say it all!

House was in a good location, however the house needs some maintenance, internal stairs feel hollow when you step on them, shower downstairs leaks out the side of the shower screen. Lisa was great with communication before and during the stay.

Location was great, nice and quiet. Bbq was great especially for cooking for large groups.Check in process was delayed and not ready at 2pm which was a little awkward when arriving. House was not cleaned very well as a result. Some furniture needs replacing like kitchen chairs, was stained and stinky.Otherwise stay was great.

The house was in an amazing location. Had everything we needed. Lisa was super friendly and inviting. The house was massive and had everything we needed. Everyone had an absolute bawl! Will definetly be booking again with Lisa! 😃

We had four families and a total of 14 people in this house. Having the big fridge and chest freezer was great. We had a cloudy week but the power didn't run out until morning six when we were leaving. It was turned on by the owners very quickly. We went during winter so it was difficult to dry towels and clothes with the dampness and rain so would suggest bringing extra towels. There is a clothes rack and fans in the cupboard which helped with this. Overall the house is quite old and needs a bit of an upgrade and maintenance, a solid cover over the outdoor area would have given us more space. But we understand how difficult it is to find workers and get jobs done on Fraser. Thank you.

We went through Stayz.. But you couldn't contact the property owner easily with their system, We had trouble wit h the water leakage from the top bathroom to the downstairs bedroom and to the bath. It was horrible and very dangerous the leakage and pouring water from upstairs. It was very dangerous all the water on the floor , slippery and there are no extra mats or mop and not able to contact the owners. It could have not happened overnight, problem must have been there for some time. they haven't contacted us for any discounts since the person affected by this had to go and stay in alternate accommodation and we all had to use one bathroom. Since they are not flexible with their bookings and no refunds, the place should be well maintained at least. Very disappointed.

We were confused initially by the lot number provided being different to the house number! Following instructions to collect the key, the place was unattended and the phone numbers unanswered. We then found the house open and the key inside. The downstairs of the house was great. Big kitchen, living areas and dining area. The upstairs bedrooms would have benefited from overhead fans. Only one of the 3 bedrooms had one. Outdoor area was great with lovely clean barbeque. Our biggest disappointment was that the Stayz site said a pool was included as an amenity. We were very disappointed to find there was no pool. This needs to be addressed, as this was the main reason we chose this house.

Good location, pitty power is an issue especially when super hot and fans don’t work. Super spacious and comfortably fitted 10 of us. Fraser is magical!
