Our family of nine stayed here four nights while at our stay in Destin. There were some highs and lows that we wanted to take the time to share. The house was very clean upon entrance. The pictures posted didn’t do it justice. The living room/kitchen area were more spacious than we expected. The layout of the house is perfect. We liked how everyone had their own living “quarters.” While the kitchen was accommodating, there weren’t as many pots as we needed, so keep that in mind. The dryer downstairs did not work, so my Mom had to make trips to the 3rd floor to wash clothes multiple times a day. The washer door upstairs was broken, and both washer and dryer are in a small closet so it wasn’t ideally operational. That was an inconvenience as our Mom is older and making trips up and down the stairs wasn’t ideal. We spent months trying to find a house with a nice game room for the kids to keep them entertained when we weren’t at the beach, so this house seemed perfect. Unfortunately, the car machine didn’t work, although they did make an attempt to try to fix it. We reached out to the owner about a few things while we were there, but some things were never addressed.
One of the major disappointments was how far the house was to the beach. According to the ad, we were under the impression that the beach was minutes away by foot. It took us about 15 minutes to get there, only to find out we were only limited to use the public beach portion, which was a very small part of the area we had walked to. The shuttle does run (nobody has the schedule) but if you plan on taking a wagon, chairs, etc, using the shuttle isn’t ideal. You can also drive there, but then you’re left looking/paying for parking. If you plan on making frequent trips to the beach, we would recommend staying on the beach, or at least at a place that has their own beach access. Overall, the house provided us with what we neededamd was beautiful, but just be aware of the condition of everything upon arrival.
