"The cottage was restful, charming, clean, airy, and comfortable. Our host was welcoming, informative, helpful. Our breakfast was delicious and it was so pleasant to share the table in the main house with other travelers. When we needed a few things for the house, help was swift in coming. We could easily have stayed longer!"

"The First Gold did not disappoint. The rooms are recently renovated along with the newly finished Horseshoe Restaurant down below. It is conveniently located across the Days of 76 arena. There is a casino area at this location too. There is a trolley stop located nearby to take you downtown Deadwood. Friendly-Helpful staff. Make sure to check out their affordable rates!"

"I found the staff very helpful and nice. The room was clean and comfortable. Shampoo, bodywash, and Lotion was available. The coffee was the usual coffee that is not very good but it was available. Had a microwave and small fridge too. For the price this place is a good deal. I will be back again. AL so this hotel is very close to the trail head for the George s nicholson trail."

"The rooms are recently renovated. We especially liked our large bathroom. Our room was on the 2nd floor and had parking in the back. This hotel has a good amount of slot machines too. But the #1 feature, is the location of the hotel. It is right across from Outlaw Square and the Silverado. We were able to sit on the balcony with a private bartender and enjoy the free concert. Definitely, will be looking for good rates at the historic Franklin again!"
