"We stayed at The James for 5 nights and it was fantastic. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, we stayed in a family room which was very spacious. The little market area for drinks, snacks and breakfast was very convenient. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and the whole family really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely return!"

"I loved staying here and wished I was staying longer. The staff is top notch. The room is well thought out and elegant. It's close to public transportation and many restaurants. The cafe was great for breakfast or coffee later. The pastries are delicious."

"The hotel is beautiful. The room was comfortable, clean, and equipped with high quality amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and healthy. They offered more bread than we could eat and they were delicious. We also like how the hotel will plant a tree if we decide to skip room cleaning service for a day."

"The sophisticated bunk bed design is really unique, our kids loved it. Beds were also big and extremely comfy. The bathroom is stylish but not really practical as the floor tiles get pretty slippery when wet. Room was spacious and everyone had space to hang out. Patio was beautiful but not well maintained. Deck chairs were dirty and covered with grime. It is okay for us as we did not hang out there due to the hot summer weather. Staff were friendly, sincere and warm. It was a nice touch to be...

"In jeder Situation besonders positiv ist uns das Personal aufgefallen: ein freundlicher Smalltalk beim Check-In, aufmerksam und sympathisch beim Frühstück (trotz temporär großen Andrangs). Die Zimmer waren ausreichend groß, sauber und hatten ein gemütliches Innendesign. Das Badezimmer ist klein aber schön gestaltet. Dusche und Badewanne sind kombiniert. Der Einstieg erschien uns etwas unkomfortabel hoch. Das Frühstück hatte eine gute Auswahl und ausnahmslos alle getesteten Produkte waren...

"Très bien ! Le studio est parfaitement agencé, décoré avec goût et bien équipé. Il est idéalement situé ! Nous n’avons pas été dérangé par le bruit alors que nous étions vendredi soir. Le seul point négatif que nous pouvons retenir et qu’il n’a pas été possible de laisser nos bagages lorsque nous avons quittés le studio, nous avons dû trouver et payer un service de consigne à bagages."

I chose this property because it is right across the street from the Holland America cruise terminal. But i would book this again even if we weren't going on a cruise. It's that good!"

"The Hotel New York is absolutely stunning. There’s so much history within these walls as it used to be Holland America’s headquarters. Our room was so spacious and comfortable-amazing pillows. The cruise port is a 2 minute walk from here-easiest embarkation ever! Many thanks for a fabulous stay!"
