"Beautiful bedroom very large and spacious, as was the en-suite shower room. The bed and bedding were excellent and I had a wonderful nights sleep. The water in the shower was hot and a good pressure. However the flush for the toilet was not working. I would also recommend the owners supply bedside lights as there were none and the main light switch was over by the door. A kettle and teabags/coffee were provided in the room but no milk or water. "Disappointing. On arrival to the room, there was a distinct musty smell. Not pleasant and still present after opening the windows. No WiFi in the room. Breakfast was almost non existent. For a pub/hotel that promotes its food service and quality, a couple of boxes of cereal and a few miniature pastries was not what was expected or advised. A cooked choice would be expected (and was advertised)"

"It's a lovely building close to the M11 in lovely grounds with parking. What I didn't like was check in at 4pm, it's out of step with most other places which are 3pm. Most hotels can get the rooms ready 11-3pm. The room was very small and the style was very dated, the rooms away from the main building are not well signed and a room for 2 people had no hand towels, 2 bath towels and the only toiletries was a minuscule bar of soap, no shower gel or shampoo.
