"We loved the views of the lake and volcano, the food was great, the hiking trails were tons of fun, the dante waterfall was beautiful, and the staff were absolutely amazing! We loved Howard and our beautiful waitress with red hair! Also, don't let the shared bathrooms scare you away from the casona. It was an amazing room with the best view and toucans!"

"We rented a car and could park right in front. The property manager never received reservation from Orbitz and we had a hard time contacting him upon arrival. Had to borrow the bike rental neighboring business’ phone to call him. He doesn’t receive payment from Orbitz either and we had to go back and forth to dispute. Cheap place to stay if you just want to quick overnighter with no frills."

"Had an absolutely wonderful time at Hotel Arsenal Lodge. I couldn’t get enough of all the pretty flowers all over the property and the room with the breathtaking views of the volcano! We were a family of 5 and the room was spacious and comfortable. The property is family run and felt very welcoming from the moment I checked in. The owner was so kind to make a beautiful bouquet for my mom’s 70th birthday and arrival to the hotel. I really wanted a bouquet with local flowers and couldn’t really...

"This properly was absolutely beautiful, so green and lush and the veiws in every direction was amazing. The birds we seen, the walks we took were juat amazin. Highly recommend the jacuzzi outside the views all around juat no words. "

"Hard to get to but it was worth it. Best view ever of Arenal volcano. Beautiful surroundings. Ten minutes from the hanging bridges. They send you to a gorgeous view restaurant for breakfast. Air conditioning was great. Comfortable bed with view of Arenal. They even have a jacuzzi hot tub in the room. Private patio with bistro to have a glass of wine while enjoying the mountain and gorgeous surroundings. Price was under $100. Coffee in room. Fridge, microwave and kitchen to cook if need be. "Beautiful property. Is it a 5 star resort no but for the area and country it was. It provided my daughter and I a wonderful place to stay, feel safe, relax, and enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica. There was maintenance going on but nothing that dampened our experience. They are expanding and thats great. All the workers were friendly and ecen when they were doing landsacaping they never came to our lodge when we were home so there was no feeling of our privacy being invaded. The staff was...

"We had the room with the private pool this time, and let me tell you it was gorgeous!! The pool could use a little updating, but the property is under new ownership and they are renovating everything. When we got there we were told they were giving us a free tour at the hanging bridges… we’ve been to La Fortuna many times, but had never done this activity. This is a DO NOT MISS location! We saw so many birds, a coati, 5 different eyelash vipers, blue jean frogs, etc. I highly recommend...

"Althouh we only stayed for a day but i can easily say that it is one of the best location to see and explore the volcano. We had issue with the generator making noise as the lights were out and they did not take time to help us relocate to another room. Also you can drive from within the property to a point to have better view of volcano. Breakfast in morning was excellent and lot of variety. I can keep on going with pools etc etc but overall a geniune 5 star review."
