Wasted a lot of time only to finally realise the Hotel was not accessible by car given all the pedestrian only areas and one way streets.. after multiple attempts to contact the hotel we finally spoke to someone who told us to park in the Lace Market carpark (£18 overnight rate), which was several minutes walk away from the hotel .. info which would have been helpful prior.to arriving. We received messages welcoming us and ready to check in etc but nothing about what to do if you are travelling by car. The guy at reception was pleasant but did inform us the doors would be locked at midnight due to ‘undesirables’ entering… which did not give us confidence of the location. The charm of the place is quite cute and old worldly. The rooms were compact and the shower was nearly impossible to get in or out of due to the door opening and size. Bed was quite comfortable. We don’t use any of the hotels ammenities or breakfast offerings.. we literally just went to a show at Nottingham Playhouse (12-15mins walk away), slept and left early in the morning. The hotel name is also not prominent, rather the Mercure brand over the door which again is confusing when trying to find the entrance. I’m not sure this hotel is part of the Mercure group or not. Overall not a great experience.

The flat was a good size the reason for the poor review was there was no hot water. It was late 11pm but I had just travelled from London so was late to the property.
