This castle was built in the 1890s by Romanian savant BP Hasdeu in memory of his daughter, Julia after she died at the early age of 18. The grieving father started spiritism sessions to contact the spirit of his beloved Julia and it is said that the castle was built following her instructions from the afterlife. On the entrance door there are two inscriptions: the family motto 'Pro fide et patria' and Galilei's famous 'E pur si muove'

Lindo por fora e bem localizado, próximo de transporte público, mercado e shopping. O recepcionista fala inglês e foi gentil o bastante para guardar minhas malas 1 dia antes da data da reserva. Sinaia is a beautiful town, with loads to do and a great atmosphere and very nice restaurants. The mountains are amazing and great for walking, the castles are great as was the casino in the park. Our host and accommodation was excellent and would not hesitate to visit/stay again.
