"EXCELLENT GROUND FLOOR APARTMENT. HANDY ACCESS AT BACK GATE TO OUR CAR WHICH WAS PARKED AT THE SIDE. CLEAN, COMFORTABLE BEDS, PLENTY OF HOT WATER AND ALL MOD CONS. EDZELL IS A LOVELY SMALL TOWN WITH SOME GREAT WALKS NEARBY. EMILY WAS A PERFECT HOST WHO EXPLAINED EVERYTHING TO US ON ARRIVAL. WE WOULD HAVE NO HESITATION IN STAYING HERE AGAIN."

"We had a sisters weekend at the lodge. The lodge was very pretty and fantastic view. The cabin its self could do with a deep clean (we had to get the duster out to remove some cobwebs before we went to bed) and the glasses needed a wash, but thats not too bad. Maybe a heads up on the road surface to the cabin would be an idea as my car is quite low and I grounded out with a scrape a couple times. But relaxing in the hot tub looking at that view was fantastic after a day sightseeing. "

"The location is excellent. The standards and cleanliness of the property is superb with interesting features like the wet room bathroom. We had three people staying and it lacks comfortable seating for this many people. Only one small sofa. "

"What a beautifully unique place to stay! We were in the Gamekeeper's bothy and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was clean and spacious and the wood stove kept us plenty warm! We never saw any red squirrels but I did see a beautiful jay that was so different from the blue jays we have in the US. I would stay here again in a minute!"

Arlene made us very welcome on check-in and showed us around the property and how things worked, we also got fresh eggs from Arlene's hens , which was a lovely touch Whilst here we visited Glen Moray distillery in Elgin, other distilleries are available, in fact there are loads around here. "A lovely, quiet place to stay just a short walk into the village of Braemar. The bonus is that you can walk to the trailheads of two great hikes, one up Morrone and one up Creag Coinnich. The house is well-equipped with comfortable couches and good reading lights (so many houses seem to think no one ever reads!) The one bed we stayed in was very comfortable and the shower water hot! We totally enjoyed staying here. (Not a negative, just a note: the staircase to the second floor is quite steep.)...

"Could not recommend this accommodation enough - a real hidden gem! Massive, secure 2 bedroom apartment in a wider bunkhouse complex which was, when we stayed, not occupied. Only 5 mins drive from Kirriemuir and so quiet and peaceful - in the heart of the countryside. Comms were great and all mod cons throughout including WiFi, TVs in all rooms and even a starter hamper! Will definitely book again. The dog loved the outdoor space which is literally ‘on your doorstep’! A+"

"Great cottage with everything you need and in a quiet and peaceful location. Beautiful comfortable bedroom and cosy living area makes it perfect. Didn’t know it had a charge point for the car which was a bonus too. "

"On a spacious site by a river, we were welcomed to this superb accommodation by casual and friendly hosts and enjoyed the sporting facilities like golf, tennis, snooker walks and cycling and as well as the castles, restaurants and other amenities in this lovely area. We had only one infant but he too was well catered for."

"Had a lovely weekend staying at Birnie Cottage. Aileen was great at giving information prior to our arrival and gave us a lovely welcome with scones, butter and jam. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The garden is beautiful and we were lucky enough to be able to sit out 2 evenings enjoying the sun and the garden. The cottage is in a peaceful location and had the benefit of woods behind it that we could walk our dogs. Although the garden is enclosed it isn't...

"We had a total of 16 people in our family stay here for 8 nights. This house was truly spectacular. The host was great. She was very responsive and accommodating. The size was perfect for our large family. We each had our own bedrooms. The house had everything you could think of. When we were leaving my grandson asked if we could stay for an extra week. When we find ourselves back in Scotland we will definitely book this house again. "

"The apartment was overall very good, only let down by a poorly fitted kitchen tap, which was very wobbly but worked. We appreciated the supplied teabags, sachets of coffee, soap, towels etc. The deposit system was a bit confusing - I expected to see a £250 payment on my card to be followed by a refund, but it seems they just held the card details "in case" so I guess no charge will be made now, after over a week.
