'Camp Chestnut' - 200 Yards to Sugar Clubhouse!

Come enjoy Camp Chestnut, a magnificent mountain retreat! This condo has just been remodeled. It is located near the base of Sugar Mountain, and is approximately a 100-yard walk to skiing and tennis. This condo sleeps six people with three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a King-sized bed, a reading area, and a TV. The second bedroom has a Queen-sized bed, and the third bedroom has a double bed. This condo features a fully equipped kitchen, a stone fireplace and a flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi, and a spacious deck for you to relax on and enjoy the nature around you. No smoking. No Pets. No Check-in's Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. All guests required to sign their rental agreement within 7 days of booking.

Excellent stay

We had the most excellent stay! The condo was extremely spacious, the location could not have been more perfect, and it was stocked with everything we needed. We will be back!!!

Great location

Terrific location within walking distance of Sugar resort/ski lodge! Just minor complaints - the stove was very slow to heat up for cooking; and the king size bed in the master was crazy squeaky. The rental check in process was smooth and checking out was easy - clear instructions. Would rent this location again.

Beware of oven knobs

Location was great. Overall place was comfortable and we had everything we needed. Be careful around the oven. Those knobs turn super easy and when you just bump up against them turn to high automatic, and you don’t know it’s on. Bella Italian restaurant right up the road was delicious!

Family ski trip

We had a wonderful four night stay at Camp Chesnut as we wanted to introduce our kids to skiing at sugar mountain. The cabin was as pictured and great use of space. We cooked every meal at the condo and loved watching movies and playing games at the table. We loved the huge windows. We walked each day to the mountain - great to have a short pass through so we didn’t have to drive. Made great use of the storage closet too. The ski school was booked up and the mountain was very busy but we had a good time anyway. The folks at alpine rental were nice! Food lion so close too. Overall wonderful trip. Can’t wait to stay here again.

Sugar Mountain Skiing

Very nice stay at this cabin. Beds are comfortable. Multiple thermostats so guests can adjust own temperature. Easy walk to Sugar Mountain lodge. Very fun for family.

Location but Filthy

Location was excellent. However the condo was filthy, cobwebs and dog hair everywhere. Beds were not comfortable. It’s a shame because the condo is very cozy.

Sugar Mountain Condo

We really enjoyed our stay here. The set up was great and the condo was well equipped for the four of us. I really enjoyed the inside renovations with the tree bark, granite and overall woodsy feel. It’s a very homey setting and the master is pitch black while sleeping which is often the biggest challenge and worry when selecting a rental property-am I going to be able to sleep well??? Certainly did here. It was nice to build puzzles and eat breakfast by that floor to ceiling window in the main are also. The kitchen is well stocked also and they even have coffee filters and coffee if you aren’t able to grab some at the nearby Food Lion on the way in. It is a general coffee pot, we don’t like Keurig’s so we we’re happy with the coffee pot. Pots and pans and such were in great shape. We did notice right away that there was a lot of dust everywhere and it was pretty visible on lamps and such. We also found some socks from prior renters under the bed. We know the place is clean but we also noticed a few key details are missing during the cleaning process. I’d lift up all that living room furniture and vacuum the whole place between renters if I were them, and check under the beds while turning the property. And I wish there was some Tupperware or storage items for leftovers and cooking. I still will give this place a great review because we loved it and walked to the Sugar Mt slopes all day and night for night skiing. Awesome property and these small tweaks would make it doubly awesome!

Great retreat on the mountain

I took my kids and their friends for my birthday weekend. We loved that we could walk out of our condo and down a short path and be at the base of the mountain. The cabin itself was beautiful and inviting and very clean. This is great cabin for any family.

Lovely place but….

Everything was lovely except the accuracy of a ski in/ski out. There was no way to walk up hill from bottom of sugar ski slopes. We drove to the parking lot which was no problem in the middle of the week. I had asked management if there was a crockpot and nobody could give me an answer except saying we recommend the owners to have one. Plus the doors of both smaller rooms wouldn’t close. Other then that it was perfect. Clean, comfy and easy. Thank you for a trip to remember.

Sugar Mountain vacation

Property is perfectly located just close enough to walk to all the activities at Sugar Mountain but just past it so you don't have all the traffic driving by. Rooms were clean and well equipped for everything we needed and made our vacation nice and relaxing!!

Great experience

We loved the location in respect to the slopes. The size was a bit smaller than what we expected but still fine. It would have been good to have basic spices like salt and pepper and the electric fireplace was disappointing. Overall our stay was good and we would stay again.

Nice place, a bit of a walk to slopes

This condo was nice and well equipped, clean, and true to the description. The path to the slope was a bit lengthy. Trudging through the 6+ inches of snow to the Easy Street lift/slope in ski boots was certainly a workout. Appears that maybe the closer path was closed due to trees down. Despite the cardio trek, it was nice to be able to access the slope and not need to drive anywhere.

Lovely mountain cottage

We loved the mountain cottage feel at Camp Chestnut! It was a great location in relation to Sugar Mountain activities. We found the path leading down to skiing/tubing/ice skating pretty easy to navigate and very convenient to walk. This rental was perfect for our weekend trip with the family. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Getaway
