Osprey is a unique oceanfront home centrally located in Avon Village with the beach as its backyard! Your options don't end at the beach.. enjoy the 8-person hot tub or enjoy over 2,000 square feet of expansive decks to watch the ocean waves or stargaze at the beautiful Hatteras Island night sky. Osprey boasts magnificent cathedral ceilings, panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, and an additional guest house for extended groups!

Ground Level: Ground Level Amenities include direct beach access, an outside shower, a charcoal grill, and a carport and driveway that accommodates up to 7 vehicles,

Mid Level: As you enter the home, you will find four large bedrooms and two bathrooms. Bedroom #1 boasts ocean views and is furnished with a King bed. Bedroom #2 is furnished with a Twin bunk bed and Pyramid (Twin over Full) bunk bed. Bedrooms #1 and #2 share a large Jack and Jill bathroom with direct access from both bedrooms. Bedroom #3 is furnished with a Queen and Twin bed plus a desk for those of you who may need to get some work done. Bedroom #4 is furnished with a Queen bed. Bedrooms #3 and #4 share the full bathroom off the hallway.

Top Level: As you make your way to the top level, you are greeted by the huge open floor plan living space with vaulted cathedral ceilings. The kitchen is fully stocked and has a large granite island that is perfect for serving buffet-style meals. Everyone can gather to eat at the 10 ft. long dining table that seats 10 and the breakfast bar that seats 3. The living area is spacious with ample seating and a flat-screen TV. Out on the oceanfront deck, you will find a bubbly hot tub with stunning ocean views, a covered outside picnic area, and deck furnishings. There is also a covered picnic table to enjoy your meals outdoors. Off the living area, you will find Bedroom #5, furnished with a King bed, chaise lounge, slider to the deck, and a skylight to watch the moon and stars as you go to sleep. The bedroom is connected to an oversized bathroom which has a powder room and laundry closet.

Guest House: What sets Osprey apart from most rentals is the detached guest house. The guest house is set up like a studio apartment, with a full kitchen, a 2 person dining set, a futon, a TV, a full bathroom, and 1 King bed. Enjoy the ocean views from the private deck with seating.

Extras: Access to Kinnakeet Shores Community Pool and Tennis Courts, guest house, hot tub, pack 'n' play, outside shower, 6 TVs, WiFi, charcoal grill, traditional coffee maker, crockpot, covered deck, sun deck, and deck furniture. No Smoking/Vaping. Dogs Welcome. Distance to beach access: Oceanfront. Beds: 3 Kings, 2 Queens, 1 Pyramid Bunk Bed (Twin over Full), 1 Twin Bunk Bed, 1 Twin. Key Type: Keyless Entry. Check-in Location: At the Property.

Fireplace is not for guest use.

Linens and towels are provided all year. This home will provide sheets for all beds and the beds will be made except for sleep sofas, top bunks, and trundle beds in which case the sheets are provided. This home also provides 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person the house sleeps, 2 hand towels per full bathroom,1 hand towel per half bathroom, and a bath mat for each shower or tub.

Immediately after booking you will receive an email with instructions to electronically sign your lease agreement to complete your reservation. There may be additional optional fees charged to your reservation that may not be able to be listed on this site (examples: pet fee, pool heat, early check in, security deposit, special events, etc.). Travel insurance can be purchased through VRBO or directly through Generali.

Vacation

Needs a lot of work. Hard time getting lights to work. Breakers kept tripping. Dishwasher didn’t didn’t do much. Had to wash by hand. Great view! Will not stay there again.

We loved everything about our vacation except the house had black mold in which we all got very sick. Suggesting you disclose this, it’s not an inconvenience but a serious health risk for your guests.

AMAZING LOCATION!

Here are the positives: location (oceanfront), view, deck furniture, proximity to grocery store, shops, new microwave, once the water warms up it is wonderfully hot, great washer and dryer, comfy pillows! The negatives: the house is in need of a serious deep clean (not normal weekly cleaning tasks - those are done well), the master bed is a horrible taco bed (our backs are killing us), the place needs a major update to furniture/flooring (carpet has numerous stains, living room furniture is made from 2x6s), the BBQ needs to have a major cleaning (tried to use it the last night and flames were coming out of the back), the house is under a sales contract (the property management comp was very respectful in asking for access once during our week - we were not inconvenienced by this). We hope the next owner will love on this house! People select this home for the location and size, not for the amenities.

Amazing location but house needs TLC

What an amazing location! And plenty of space to bring the whole extended family, which we loved. The family room expanded to fit us all comfortably and the deck was awesome. Our complaint is that no one has done the necessary maintenance in a while. Some plugs don’t work, paint is peeling off everywhere, it desperately needs a deep clean, and the guest quarters over the garage was dirty and full of sand. Despite my heartbreak for a beautiful house that’s being neglected we loved every second of our stay in Avon!

Beautiful location but house needs work

We very much enjoyed the location of the house right on the beach. The deck was fantastic with great chairs. We also liked the size of the house. The upper floor with the open concept living, dining and kitchen was great. The furniture and cupboards are very outdated which is fine but the whole house needs a good scrubbing. The guest house had it's issues including a clogged shower, a very loud A/C (which ended up not working) and ants! The ants started in the kitchen area, migrated to the bed and then to the suitcases/clothing. The guests in the cottage were luckily able to move into the main house since there was a spare room available. Ants were also found in a cupboard over the stove in the main house. The size of the fridge was average but when you have 9+ guests there needs to be more room for food and beverages. The kitchen was fully stocked but little things like very dirty potholders were a turn off. The showers doors were moldy on the outside as they did not close properly. Water pressure was low due to old shower heads with mineral deposits. The primary bathroom on the top floor off the living area had a sink faucet that wasn't secure to the sink. The vacuum barely picked up but there were 2 so we were able to use one of them. It was great having a washer/dryer unit. Communication with the rental agency did not always solve the issues. Overall, this could be an awesome property with some work, updates and cleaning. We expected a bit more since the amount paid was pricey.

We love this house!!

We really enjoyed every aspect of this house! The views, proximity to the beach, the spacious rooms…we enjoyed every minute of our stay! Even though the weather was CRAZY!!! There was flooding, high winds and cold…but we were happy in the house and taking walks on the beach as weather allowed

Great Stay for Family Reunion

We loved our stay at the Osprey. My husband and I put the trip together for my family. We stayed in the guest house which was perfect as we both had to work a little bit and it was nice to have a place to retreat to for phone calls/zoom meetings. The main house is gorgeous and the view is unbeatable. Loved the large dining table and loved all of the chairs on the porch. Great for reading with a coffee in the morning. Of all the places I've stayed in obx this was also my favorite in relation to proximity to town and everything we needed. Right across the street from food lion, tons of restaurants, and shops. Avon is great bc it's right in the middle of all of the great little towns you want to visit. I would highly recommend this area but specifically this rental. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Spring 2020 Weekend

We had a nice weekend at Osprey. The house has a great layout for multigenerational families, the kitchen is well-equipped, and the views from the deck and top-level are unbeatable. Would definitely recommend the house!
