Great spot in the heart of Austin. The mermaid place was very beautiful and cozy with the whole environment being a big piece of art, made of many smaller pieces of art. Amenities are excellent, but the futons on the floor were rough on my husband’s back. Other than that, the hosts were great and we enjoyed meeting Lois and Stan.Highly recommend Ubers or other ride-shares to get to local eateries because parking is difficult to navigate. Really enjoyed the scooters in the city!

The key question is - as always - would you come back: yes. This place is prime for access to the Zilker - Barton Springs - Downtown areas. I was able to walk to Trek Bicycles on Lamar in 20 min to rent a bike. As for the accommodations, they are very colorful, charming, and quiet. You’re in a garden, so don’t be shocked if a water bug shows up - it’s part of the fun.

We had such an awesome stay! Lois is really great and really has created a Peaceful Haven - so much so that the two teens I was with hated leaving every time an activity was suggested (if you know teenagers, you know that’s high praise!). The space is super clean and well taken care of all around, on top of it being enchanting and a literal piece of art. The teens slept in the loft - the ladder was a bit treacherous for me (not the ladder’s fault!).The bathroom is small but it’s a small place, so not a problem. Lots of towels and toiletries to use.Keep in mind when eating out the fridge is basically a dorm/cube fridge. A to go box from Home Slice will not fit :-)Lastly - location, location, location. You can’t beat the location, especially if you want to spend time at Zilker Park.We loved our stay and will be back!

Lois's peaceful haven was absolutely wonderful, I loved the mermaid atmosphere and the AC unit was an absolute life saver. The space was clean and well-supplied, I never wanted for anything. Looking forward to my next stay with her!

i was born in the disney era where the little mermaid was created! it was my favorite movie so1) i felt right at home fullfilling the dream of being under the sea in heaven 2) the location was perfection in every way and the host was the coolest ever!!

Peaceful Haven!

Hubby and I made a last minute trip and found this gem! Love the aethetic of decor and a hostess so willing to accommodate. It was just what we needed to unwind. Location was perfect for all the good eats and Austin life! We will be back.

Such a fun space!

We wanted to do a little stay-cation and this was such a fun space for it! You can tell the space has had a lot of love poured into it and was truly unique. We took a bunch of fun rainbow pictures while there. We're looking forward to coming back in the future.

Funky and Fun

The host was very clear about what amenities were provided and the space available, and it fit our needs perfectly since we planned to be out and about for most meals. It is very close to a lot of Austin staples like Zilker and the Broken Spoke. The host has binders of recommendations which were helpful and also shared customized recommendations in person. If we return to Austin, we'd likely stay here again!
