We had the best stay here! Everyone was lovely and the room was quite spacious. It does have the typical steep Amsterdam stairs, but Johannes carried up our bags for us which was so kind! Beautiful views of the canal too and cute Henry the Heron. We would definitely recommend.

Something that was unique about the property was the staff. The owner Johannes was beyond helpful and he was able to assist us with any concerns or questions we had. The communication was fast and informative, even before we settled into the hotel. We recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Amsterdam for the first time because the location is phenomenal and the hotel is in good condition and has all amenities.

Great couples getaway

Beautiful room, views and location with plenty great eating & drinking options in walking distance. Johannes was incredibly helpful throughout. Would definitely recommend for other couples visiting Amsterdam.

Stayed in the Canal View Stay for a week with my daughter. Johannes, the host, greeted us when we arrived and showed us the room, gave us some tips and recommendations for exploring the area, and made us feel immediately comfortable and welcomed. The location, close to the entrance of Vondelpark, was convenient to transportation, close to bakeries, drugstores, grocery stores and pharmacies, and far enough away from the city center to feel quiet. The room was lovely with a great canal view, the beds were very comfortable, and the little treats and goodies left for us in the room were nice to have. The best part of our stay, though, was the level of hospitality and warmth we received from Johannes. He made us feel very at home, and even helped me surely daughter with some beautiful tulips and pastries on her birthday. We left feeling like we’d made a friend in Amsterdam. I cannot recommend this place strongly enough. If you have the opportunity to stay here, take it! You won’t regret it.

Charming BnB. Lovely view of the canal. There are two flights of tricky stairs, but Johannes takes up your luggage. He also provides snacks, cereal, drinks, and lots of helpful info about the area.

Canal Side In The Trees

If you are lucky enough to book this one room accommodation in Amsterdam, then you are LUCKY! We loved our stay with Johannes and Inna in their canal side aerie. The room is really comfortable, big shower which is unusual in Europe, bed and bedding great, loved having seating area and a counter with a wonderful view of the trees and the peaceful canal. Johannes packed our frig and shelves with breakfast items, snacks and wine and beer and kept up the supply of those yummy Dutch stroopwafels.You do have to be able to climb steep and narrow stairs, but once up it's worth it! And Johannes happily carried our considerable amount of luggage up and back down the stairs. He was always available to help and gave great advice on things to do in town. It is outside of the city center, but easily reached by tram and we appreciated the calm of the neighborhood. We spent our last day on the private canal boat trip Johannes offers. A lovely and relaxing way to see the city and a different perspective. I hesitate to write this glowing review because we loved our stay and don't want this charming place to become so popular that it's not available the next time we visit to Amsterdam!

Innes and Johannes are a very lovely host, and the apartment at the top was such a delight to stay in. It's very clean, and all amenities are included as per the listing. The hosts are so friendly and Johannes took our bags up and down for us! It's honestly one of the best experiences we have had!! Would stay here again if we are visiting !!!

Room with a view.

Our stay started a bit rough, no fault of the owner. The airlines lost our bags. Johannes did everthing in his power to make our stay still amazing. It is very personal, you are his only guest. The view from the room is amazing and everything is a close walk. You are staying in the true Amsterdam not the tourist section. Not to worry the number 2 tram is a short walk away to take you to city center. 1 day in city center was enough. I longed to get back to our section of town near the entrance to Amsterdams largest park. No need to guess what to do or where to eat. Read is professionally made books and you feel like a local in no time. The building is historical and has very steep stairs. Probably not the stay for you if that could be a problem. He will carry your bags to the room. This is a very special stay and I will surely return if I find ourselves in Amsterdam again. Thank you Johannes for a memorable trip.

A wonderful place. Location was wonderful: overlooking the canal, near the Vondelpark and walking distance to museums. Johannes is delightful and took very good care of us while we were there. Lots of extra goodies like Stroopwaffles, espresso and drinks. I would definitely stay again when in Amsterdam!

We have been plenty of Airbnb but this one is exceptional. The host Johannes actually came to greet us and explained about the area as well as recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing. He thought of the essentials required for the room. It was comfortable and clean and spacious. We will stay there again for sure.

Canal View Stay Amsterdam is simply one of the loveliest lodging experiences I've had in more than 50 years of European travel. Our room was exquisitely decorated in an uncluttered and soothing style that immediately induced calm. It was fitted out and supplied with everything we needed.. The location could not be better - just a few steps from Amsterdam's glorious Vondel Park from which we were able to walk to the museums, excellent restaurants and a convenient grocery store - you feel as if you are part of a residential neighborhood which you are. The charming and ebullient owner, Johannes, lives on the property and made himself available literally 24/7 through a What'sApp group chat we created for our visit with recommendations, advice and a constant sense of having a local friend. My opinion: the ideal place to stay in Amsterdam.

Absolutely incredible!

Canal view stay has to be one of the best BnB experiences that we have ever had. The comfort and home-feel of a BnB was combined with the attention to detail and service found within a design hotel. I was pleasantly surprised by the space that was larger than expected from the photos. The apartment is in an excellent location walking distance from supermarkets, restaurants, coffee shops and of course - Vondelpark. We became regulars at the bar next door that serves great food and drinks. Johanne's hosting was exceptional throughout the stay and he did everything to make our trip special. We were able to enjoy an incredible private guided canal tour which was the best way to spend my birthday! The attention to detail is unmatched and there seemed to be nothing that wasn't thought about. I will be recommending this place to friends and look forward to staying again on our next trip to Amsterdam! Thank you so much :)
