"We had a lovely stay. Andrew was a great host and showed us everything we needed. The bar was humming and our dinner was fabulous. We had a great nights sleep. The renovated bathroom was excellent and had a nice big shower. Room 2 was lovely overall. Breakfast in the morning was excellent.. Overall we had a lovely overnight stay at the Cricketers Inn and would not hesitate to stay here again when in the area. "

"Beautiful room and en-suite in a lodge with four others, tucked away at the back of the garden. Very comfortable. Especially appreciated two armchairs, decent size fridge and small outside area with table and chairs. Evening meal in the pub was also excellent. Lovely beer garden and attentive hosts. We didn't have breakfast as making an early start but ordered a packed lunch which was very handy."

"My go to hotel in the area because it is always friendly, nothing is too much trouble, clean and convenient place to stay. I rarely eat there, doing so with friends in the neighbourhood, which is why 4 stars not 5 but given the comments I hear from those who do I suspect 5 would be deserved."

"This property is a gem! Incredibly convenient and comfortable for anyone visiting. We only stayed one night, but the staff was very helpful and nice. The beds are extremely comfortable and air conditioning was key to a very hot couple of days. The amenities are also wonderful."

"The room was spacious although the decor was a little tired and in need of some TLC. Very hot in room and although a fan was provided it wasn't adequate for the size of the room. The room was at the front of the hotel so we had some road noise as the windows were the old sash windows. Some black out curtains would have been useful as there was lots of early morning light filtering through. The bathroom was in need of a makeover. Cracked tiles, short shower curtain and water damaged bath panel...

"The property is timber framed and old, really old. Cleanliness and condition is very good but this building needs constant maintenance. We loved it, it’s very old and full of history. Very cute little town, very nice surroundings. We hit it in the middle of a heat wave and there is no AC, in fact there’s likely no AC in most of the village but the normal temperature does not require it. We were just unlucky. The pub/restaurant downstairs is very nice, very cool old England look. The breakfast...

"Maybe my error but NO air conditioning. Ended up not staying as the temperature in the area was crazy high. Would not let me cancel prior to check in time very disappointed."

"Immediately told we would have to pay £15 for overnight parking in their car park (nobody mentioned there was free parking in their road outside). Then told breakfast would cost £15, even if you only had a bowl of cereal. Room was like an oven, and couldn’t open windows properly, let alone any air conditioning. Very poor value for money."
