"Was perfect for an overnight stay for a party trip"

"The property was very dated, with a need of a deep clean and decor update. Carpets were stained and our particular room had a unpleasent smell. Overall the property has seen better days, I guess this is reflected in a lower than average room price for the area. Staff however were very friendly and although we did not eat a main meal, the portions looked generous and other guests appeared content. Suggest read the available reviews and make you own decision."

"I was not really happy with the room I was given. I booked a normal room, but received a room for an impaired person. I was put in room 1. The shower was a wet floor shower, which was not too bad, but the bed was terrible. The mattress had collapsed and I ended up sleeping ( actually I didn't sleep) in a dip, ended up with body aches."

Stayed in many of the rooms, ate, drank, was merry, and also shared the disappointment of an English World Cup semi final in their beer garden. Apart from the Willow Tree Birds having a fondness for pooping on my car, and the odd thing not replenished by housekeeping at times, my stays have been nothing short of fantastic. "Great place to stay for Forest Live. Hotel is lovely, warm and welcoming. It was a warm day so quite hot inside but we spent time outside in the huge gardens, the bar was open and we sat next to the river. Breakfast was superb, fresh fruit and proper butchers sausages! Would definitely stay again."

"Good location, parking was plentiful and appeared safe. Hotel room was clean as were the linens and towels however our room was above the bar and you could hear people chatting downstairs. The shower was small but functional, although the shower door was broken. Corridors to the rooms were tired and needed some tlc. Unfortunately we had to leave early so couldn't enjoy breakfast to it's fullest but the buffet bit was well stocked although some pastries would have been welcome as we couldn't...

"Arrived to find the place locked up and had to make a phone call for someone to come to the pub to give us our room key. Apparently there was a problem of having no electricity due to the heat. No evening meal available and no bar; breakfast was average, with some folk having to wait a long time for service. The place was clean and room was comfortable."

"Absolutely beautiful place, in fabulous surroundings, with an interesting back story. Very comfortable bed and top quality bed linen and towels. "The Guinness Arms had character rooms and the hallway was just as nice. Our room had aircon and also a skylight which had retractable blinds if you wanted to look at the sky or not. Room was clean and cosy with coffee and tea facilities. A bottle of water was also supplied with a selection of biscuits. Iron and board in cupboard for those who want to sort the creases out.
