Cosy coastal cottage

Centrally located, minutes from the Kiama Harbour, within walking distance to Bombo (5 min) and Surf beach (12min), Black beach and the rockpool . Step outside the front door with a view to the lighthouse, and enjoy the cafes, restaurants and boutique shopping.

This historic, late 19th century quarryman’s cottage is fully renovated, with all work sympathetic to and in keeping with its history. The cottage is styled in a relaxed coastal style with some vintage charm, and inspiration from our travels.

‘Allwood Harbour Cottage’ is perfect for couples and friends or a family. Well-behaved pets are welcome (at no extra fee) with snacks included.

No extra cleaning fee.

Note: There are security cameras located on the outside of the house. These will be switched off before check-in and during a guest's stay.

Overall we had a pleasant stay.The beds were very comfortable, with clean linen. The kitchen was well stocked & clean.It would be more comforting perhaps to have safety bar in the shower (I happened to be recuperating from a hip surgery but managed ok).The area we found most lacking was the loungeroom; it had the odour of old musty furniture & dogs (our dog however was very much at home ).

I almost hate writing this review because more people will book and I am not going to get a reservation again. Because it will be too popular!The attention to detail is amazing- from the gourmet kitchen to the treats for pets. Best bed ever. Every little thing is anticipated - and the location with quick walk to the beach and views from the deck. Everything was amazing- clean, tidy and first class. Highly recommend but not too loudly because I want to book again without too much competition. I want to come back soon- and bring family!

Beautifully restored heritage home complete with all modern comforts. Excellent communication by host who very thoughtfully provided pantry essentials and treats for humans and dog! ( a first ever for Daisy) Exceptionally well equipped kitchen, laundry and bathroom. Quiet location, relaxing and reminiscent of childhood stays in grandparents heritage home. Highly recommend. Superb

The cottage had charm plus ambience, easy walking to, beach, bay, cafes, restaurants and handy to the rail. Cottage a tastefully renovated quarryman's home in a historic precinct. Quiet and private just out of the busy town area. Not only tastefully appointed but the host provided an extensive range of "extras" which was gratefully appreciated.

Seaside Comfort

Thank you Dora for an amazing stay. The amenities, decor and gorgeous garden make the cottage such a cozy and welcoming place to stay. Beds are very comfortable and the location is fantastic.

A home away from Home Allwood cottage

The minute we walked in it was so like home and inviting. Dora has styled and welcomed you and our pet with welcome packs and the home is set up very well. Everything you need is there. Location, set up and comfort at our finger tips. We had a great stay, and we totally recommend this cottage a way to unwind and take in Kiama.

Well appointed and amazingly looked after!

Felt very looked after by Dora. The attention to detail was really appreciated. It’s the little things that made our stay so relaxing and stress free! I forgot my makeup remover, there were some in the vanity cupboard, things I didn’t even think of this place had. My cat Blue enjoyed his stay as well with the special care package on arrival! So very happy! Dora is definitely a SUPER HOST! Thank you 🙏

Allwood Harbour Cottage

This is such a beautiful little restored cottage with just the right amount of space for our family. The host is wonderful to deal with and is very thoughtful with all the inclusions and the welcome gift for us and our dogs was such a nice little touch.

The host truly is a super host! Very responsive to messages and queries, even when we had a last minute hiccup with travel and I had to text her very late at night and I managed to get a reply. Very kindly offered to move our stay dates due to last min travel delay. House was also spotless, kitchen was more well equipped than my own at home! House on a quiet street which is safe yet not far from restaurants etc. will recommend 100%

Coming back again

Our second year in Dora’s beautiful home in the heart of Kiama. Perfect days spent swimming in the continental pool, walking the dogs in the beach and eating The Pines gelato each afternoon. Highly recommended!

I love going to Kiama and staying at Allwood Cottage. It is like a home away from home for me. The house is very comfortable and well appointed and so close to the shops / cafes in Kiama. Our check in process was easy and convenient. Highly recommended :)

Beautifully restored coastal cottage

We really enjoyed our stay here. Kiama is a lovely coastal town, and this cottage is in a great location just a few minutes walk from the town (with lots of great local shops and cafes), and close to scenic landmarks such as the Kiama Lighthouse and Blowhole. The cottage is beautifully furnished in the coastal style, and is a tasteful mix of lovely original features and new comforts. The owner Dora was very helpful and prompt with communication, and provides lots of complimentary items such as shower products, a first aid kid, washing detergent, food basics etc, for use if required. She also left a handwritten note of welcome, which was a nice touch. The only factor that wasn’t full marks for us was that there is actually only one proper indoor bathroom. What is listed as a second bathroom is actually a toilet, sink and mirror in a (clean and tidy) laundry room located just outside the back door of the house. Whilst this would be fine for a small, single family unit, it’s not ideal for staying with extended adult family members as we did, where we were specifically wanting two completely seperate bathrooms. Otherwise, I would totally recommend this charming cottage, particularly for small families. It was very kid friendly (and actually set up really nicely for dogs too!).

Wonderful place for a break

We absolutely loved our time at Allwood Harbour Cottage- really well equipped, great location that’s an easy walk to beaches and the shops in town, and our dog LOVED the garden. Excellent communication with Dora was the icing on the cake. A magical break in every way- we’ll be back!
