Who knew this kind of relaxation was possible, your own private French country abode that feels like you are a million miles away from it all yet civilization is only minutes away. This charming forest retreat is suitable for 1- 2 people looking for privacy and luxury. From marble counter tops to custom art , flooring and furniture you will feel you are surrounded by the finest of everything. The fully equipped kitchen includes everything you will need for whipping up a gourmet meal while taking in the gorgeous west coast panorama out your large kitchen windows . The bathroom boasts floor to ceiling natural stone tiles from Peru, heated flooring and a large walk in shower with grab bar. The charming bedroom with queen bed is done up with soft comfortable linens looks out its own double French doors onto a wooded wonderland. Watch deer wander by as you sip your morning coffee in front of the custom cement fireplace with gas insert. There is parking for 2 vehicles. The cottage sits on a lovely natural 5 acre parcel of land with the owners house approximately 100 meters further along the private lane. The owners will respect your full privacy yet are more than happy and available for answering questions The charming village of Brentwood Bay is 5 mins away by car, here you will find all the conveniences you need, grocery stores, liquor stores, coffee shops, drug stores, medical clinic as well as the Brentwood Bay lodge that boasts a world class restaurant, pub, spa and marine shop where you can rent paddle boards, kayaks, eco cruises and scuba diving equipment.. Butchart gardens as well as numerous hiking trails, wineries, farm stands, lakes and beaches are only minutes away. Victoria city is 15 mins, and the sea side town of Sidney is 15 mins. The cottage was well appointed with everything we needed in the kitchen & bathroom.It was in a very quiet location up the hill off West Saanich Road but groceries, & restaurants were only minutes away.

We really enjoyed our stay in Kat’s cottage. It was spacious and airy and bright! The kitchen was set up with everything we needed, and there were two lovely spots for enjoying our coffee outside in the morning. Kathleen was very welcoming, and kept in contact with us throughout our stay. The location is quiet and private, yet only a few minutes drive from Brentwood for supplies, or about 35 minutes from downtown to see the sights. We would recommend staying at the cottage for anyone looking for this type of stay.

Amazing French Country cottage! Spacious and beautifully decorated. We came to the area to visit Butchart Gardens and this was perfectly located close by. Also close enough for a couple of day trips to Victoria.

This beautifully designed and crafted cottage in a quiet woodland setting was a wonderful place for even a brief getaway, and would be delightful for a more extended stay. Kathleen is a welcoming and thoughtful host (and accomplished artist!), and the cottage is truly beautiful and beautifully equipped. Amazing Property

This is a very unique property that you will love. It is beautifully furnished and is located in a quiet, forest like setting, but still just minutes away from Victoria. So glad we stayed here for four nights!!

Fairytale cottage and setting.

Kat’s Cottage was like walking into a dreamworld. French doors on all four sides looking out into the surrounding deep woods. The space inside is equally breathtaking, with special attention to small decorative details. Beautiful kitchen in an open floor plan, with high ceilings spacious washroom and lovely comfortable bedroom with its own French door to the outside. Located with easy access to just about anything you want to do, from kayaking and hiking to a day in Victoria. Highly recommend this little treasure.

Relaxing and Tranquil

My husband and I stayed here for four nights. We were looking for a place that was close enough to the downtown experience but far enough away to enjoy a quiet getaway. This cottage was exactly as depicted in the photos. It was like living in a beautiful picture. Kathleen provided us with all the necessities for easy living; the bathroom and kitchen were very well equipped. We would love to return to this oasis of peace and tranquility!

Wish we had more time there

Was only there for two nights. Perfect for a couple or solo. Very well equipped and beautifully decorated punctuated with art by the homeowner. Will definitely stay again if visiting.

a month in the woods

I was working temporarily in Victoria and stayed in this lovely cottage. It was a home away from home. Very comfortable and cozy. After long working days it was the perfect place to come back to and unwind. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The pictures do not give credit to how beautifully appointed this property is. Kathleen's art is on display in every single corner, in a well planned and coordinated decorative design approach. The outdoor space is surrounded by rain forest and well appointed seating areas for full enjoyment and relaxation. Best property we have been to

An Exceptional Vacation Rental

This was by far the most well-appointed and lovely VRBO that we have ever stayed in. We loved the serenity, the forest surroundings, and most especially the design and decor of the cottage. It truly did feel luxurious, while at the same time comfortable and homey. Kathleen was readily available to answer any questions. The village, with pubs, restaurants, grocery store, etc. is only minutes away. We feel very fortunate to have discovered this unique lodging. It was an ideal place to celebrate our anniversary, and we hope to return soon.
