"The abode is located in the basement of a very nice home in a quiet neighborhood. It has a private entrance, very spacious living room and a small kitchenette. There was plenty of towels provided as well as an ironing board/iton, broom and vacuum. Since it is in the lower level of a home, you do have the noise of people above you but it was very quiet at night and in the early morning.It snowed while we were visiting and the host was so kind he cleared our walkway too. "We were in town to attend Dayton Days fall Festival. Our hosts Brent & Jen went above and beyond to ensure we had everything needed during our stay. The house was perfect for our needs, and the location is in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. Without hesitation I would recommend this home to anyone visiting the area. "Great amenities and spacious bedrooms including two king beds. You felt like you were in a treehouse while relaxing in the hot tub and on the deck. Kitchen was tight but dining table seated 8. Loved the location and that it wasn’t too deep into the Mattanussen Resort since we were driving back and forth to JMU. "

"Fantastic property! Decor is simple and takes you back to 1983, but super clean and amazingly well stocked with everything you might need. Host even has snacks and drinks available! She also has jams, soaps, and honey for purchase. The dogs (Mastiffs) are super sweet and friendly. I didn't pay attention and didn't realize there is no wi-fi or TV, but it wasn't an issue for us- but just an fyi. We are parents of a JMU student so we'll be in the area in the future- we'll definitely book The Wash...

"This was an excellent location to facilitate our 30th birthday celebration with friends. We were most appreciative of the host’s promptness in addressing a hiccup with the water supply that happened. This ended up having 0 impact on our event due to how quickly they responded and sent out a plumber. There was so much space and we had everything we needed. Would highly recommend! "

"The house is old but looks newly painted inside. It boasts a good size kitchen, dining room and 4 double bedrooms. There is a first floor bedroom if someone can’t walk the stairs. We used the screened side porch a lot and the hot tub every night. The only thing needed to enjoy outside hot tub are lights for the stairs to the deck. Close to Blue Ridge Parkway and 20 minutes from Charlottesville. "
