Driftaway | Ocean Views, Dual Sun Rooms

Driftaway is a beautifully furnished luxury home with ocean views located only one house from the beach! Features include high ceilings with a large open floor plan with a spacious living room, dining area that seats 10. The spacious kitchen is bright and open and includes a large breakfast bar for additional seating 5, stainless appliances, beautiful granite countertops, and is ready for your favorite cup from the Keurig Elite brewing station.

There are 2 enclosed sunrooms for enjoying a good book or relaxing after a day at the beach. The main floor consists of a large living room with a queen sleeper sofa and plenty of seating, 42in LED TV with speaker bar, wireless Blu-ray, and a Bose stereo system with iPod dock. The living room also has French doors that open to a furnished sunroom. The large living area is open to the dining and kitchen making the whole room feel very open and welcoming. Enjoy spending time with one another without missing out on any conversations. Also on the main level is one guest bedroom with a king bed, 26in LCD TV, and DVD, plus desk and sitting area with a partial ocean view. Adjacent is a full bath and a laundry room.

The top floor has a large Primary suite and two guest bedrooms. The Primary Suite has a plush king bed, 32in flat-screen TV with a wireless Blu-ray. The Primary has French doors that open onto a large, furnished sunroom with fabulous ocean views, comfortable seating, and a sound system with iPod dock. The Primary bath has a shower, and double vanities. The first guest bedroom has a queen bed, flat-screen TV and DVD, and a private outdoor balcony that is perfect for sunbathing. The second guest bedroom has two double beds and a flat-screen TV and DVD.

Below the home, there are two covered patio areas to entertain and relax. There is a gas grill, outdoor dining table for 6, a large counter for fish cleaning or Low Country Boil cooking, and has a ping pong table and cornhole boards for hours of family fun. The fenced yard features a garden fountain and a six-person hot tub. This beautiful home is located on a small private lane and in a convenient mid-island location. Beach access is only 20 yards away. There is ample parking for up to 5 vehicles, including 2 spaces in the garage.

*Both the Living Room and Primary Bedroom televisions include wireless Bluray players which allow for access to your Netflix account to stream movies along with other internet capabilities.

Nice house in good location. Management company very responsive and helpful. Be aware sound travels throughout the house. The floors need to be mopped. I would stay there again.

Fall Getaway

Beautiful home with lots of room. Had some problems with the internet and the hot tub, but the property managers took care of these. Loved the porches. Not a great view of the ocean but still a great house.

Great place w/ tons of room, but make sure you have a beach cart with wheels...

Very nice place with a ton of room, great for entertaining, and in a perfect mid-island location. But be prepared: it's a little harder than you would expect to get to the beach, because the nearest boardwalks (including one that is pictured on the website) are either on adjacent private property (whose owner yelled at us when we tried to use it) and/or only go about a third of the way & dump you into the middle of dunes, so we ended up having to walk out to Butler & then back down either 10th or 11th to use the public access points on those streets. Not the end of the world, but definitely a little annoying given the somewhat misleading pic on the site & the statement in the property description that "beach access is only 20 yards away." Nonetheless, this is still a very nice spot, and as long as you know what you're getting into, we would still recommend it highly, especially for a larger family or group.

Siblings Weekend

Eight adults gathered from out of state for a long weekend. There was plenty of space for us, the property was clean, and check-in and check-out were both easy and convenient. We loved all the different areas we could sit and gather comfortably, plenty of seating. A few disappointments: The Wi-Fi didn’t work for the duration of our stay. The property management company was responsive and sent someone out, but it was never resolved. The hot tub finally reached its peak temperature on the morning of our departure, which we had set it to 48 hours prior. My assumption is it had been turned off for some time (we stayed in the off-season) and turned on in preparation for our arrival, but it didn’t have time to fully heat up in that time. That, paired with the whirlpool tub marked with a sign that it didn’t work, were a big disappointment given the chilly, windy, rainy February weather. The cornhole boards were there and we wanted to set them up in the garage, but alas, no bags to be found. All in all a huge property that can serve a large group, but best to make sure the amenities advertised are in fact available and operable.

Great beach house

This house was a great home base for our beach bachelorette party! Take note that they do not allow decorations on the walls or windows (something I didn’t realize until the week of the event). The boardwalk to the beach connects to the backyard which was amazing. The common area was a great space for hanging out with a group of 10. The only other thing we would have liked to have would be an outdoor shower - but overall a great experience!

The Great Driftaway

The Driftaway was a great local getaway for our family. The house had everything we needed especially the amount of space and Jacuzzi. The small issue we had with the garage panel was addressed in a timely manner by management and we appreciated it. We look forward to returning this summer.

Great House for a Big Group

Very Spacious and great Decks (views are limited). Only drawback, the board walk to the beach is not very long you have to walk through the dunes on a path, shoes are required, there were a lot of little briar balls

Plenty of room

The house had lots of room to spread out and it was very clean. There were lots of things to do, hot tub, ping pong and corn hole. The only thing I felt was missing was a few kitchen basics. Often times places have saran wrap, some spices, maybe a little olive oil. It was fine since we didn't do much cooking this time. All pots, pans, bowls, tupperware etc. We're provided..

Beautiful home near beach

The house comfortably held our family of 11. It was well stocked with plenty of dishes and bath towels. The walk to the beach was partially on wooden walkway but then you had to walk through the dunes. It would be nice if the walkway went all the way to the beach like other properties.

Mixed review

On the plus side the house has lots of space, large kitchen and eating area and living room. The porches are big and lovely and the neighborhood is quiet. The proximity to the beach is great. On the negative side there is nothing stocked in the kitchen but one salt shaker. The master bath exhaust didn’t work which made the bath and bedroom full of steam. All the linens were the rental kind, nothing luxurious or even nice. The worst was how dirty the tile floors were and there was nothing to clean them with. The management company did send housekeeping over to clean them. She did a nice job and her many mop heads were black! Needless to say, that should have been done before we arrived and dirties our socks. While the bedroom downstairs is very large there is no closet or storage space there. We were not able to connect to WiFi all week, which was very inconvenient. So, renter beware!

Gorgeous house, amazing beach - absolutely perfect.

Came down for a bachelor/bachelorette weekend and this house was perfect. A walk from the beach and Tybee’s little strip - we were only able to coordinate our schedules on St. Patrick’s Day weekend and Driftaway was a perfect respite from the madness in Savannah.

We came down for my sister’s Bachelorette party and had a WONDERFUL time. Everything was incredibly well appointed, comfortable and charming. We highly recommend this home to large groups and families!
