Van Horne Villa | Beautiful Home, Ocean Views!

Van Horne Villa is a custom-built 3700+ square foot home that features unobstructed views of the beach and the Atlantic Ocean. Located on the main oceanfront side of the North end of Tybee, you can enjoy a quieter beach location and are still within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The home's exterior offers everything you would want in an oceanfront home, including private beach access right from your deck with a shower to rinse off, lots of seating and lounge space, a charcoal grill, and an enclosed outdoor shower room with a bathroom.

On the home's main living level, you will find the kitchen, dining area, four guest bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large oceanfront deck. The kitchen features a six-burner gas stove, oven, convection oven/microwave, full-size fridge, and plenty of space for large family meals. There is a full bath in the hall. The dining area table seats 10, and the living area is comfortably furnished and includes a wet bar with a built-in icemaker.

The guest bedrooms on this floor include #1: Queen, #2: Double, #3: 2 Doubles with Jack and Jill Full Bath connecting to #4: Queen bed.

The top floor of the home features two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The first is furnished with a King and full bath with a soaking tub with an oceanfront view and a separate shower. The second offers a King and Double bed and an attached full bath. There is also a laundry with a full-sized washer and dryer in the hall.

The home's ground level offers a utility room with a full-sized freezer, an additional washer and dryer, and a sink. The ground-level patio provides additional seating, stair access to the main level deck, an enclosed shower room, a charcoal grill, and a gas grill perfect for cookouts. There is parking for five vehicles. This home has High-Speed Internet/WIFI available for guest use.

The property is very nice, good beach access and a very large home. However, we would never recommend this property which is such a shame. We went without hot water for 6 of 7 days. We called Tybee Rental multiple times per day, left voicemails, and never heard back from them until Friday and we left Saturday. So no hot water to shower after the beach, clearly a problem for a week at the beach. Also, we called because we could not find the remote control for the main TV, no reply. We called because the grill would not start and we were having a birthday cookout, no answer so plans cancelled. The complete lack of any property management was actually disturbing. We had to leave a voicemail saying if we didn't hear back, we would have to call the fire département because we were so concerned at getting no answer. This is the first we've ever experienced with a rental- no customer sevice support or property management for help.Lastly, upon checking in right on time. 4:00 PM, we met the cleaners and the property owner who literally exploded at us. So truly unkind and completely inappropriate. We were forced to sit in the rain for an extra 40 minutes when they said they needed 10, then left by a back door and never told us the property weas ready.Do yourself a huge favor, do noy rent this house and do not rent any house managed by Tybee Vacation Rentals. It was a terrible experience and ruined a family beach vacation we had planned for a full year.

Wonderful house and location

Van Horne Villa was the perfect house for our family reunion with cousins. This not so young group had a great time. The house has everything you could need or want. Easy access to the beautiful beach was fantastic and the large porch became everyone’s favorite place. Quiet neighborhood but ability to walk to many things. We can’t imagine a better place and are already planning to go back!

Family Friendly

Awesome house great feel!

House has a great feel about it. Amazing view, the hedges and landscape needs maintenance A couple blinds are broken obstructing the gorgeous view upstairs It would have been nice to have beach chairs/umbrella included ;)

Nice, but...

The home is lovely. Location is great. Beautiful beach views from the upstairs Master Bedrooms. Plenty of parking. A/C worked great. However...the jack-n-jill bathroom between guest rooms was not in working order. This was NOT told to us when booking or prior to arrival. Just a sign on the door when we got there. This was an enormous inconvenience considering we had 13 people staying for the weekend. I can't fathom not informing the renters of such a thing, offering another option to move to (prior to arriving) or a refund of some sort for the inconvenience. The "path" to the beach needs a little maintenance - I am aware that the natural buffer between the home and beach needs to remain untouched however the path itself could be managed that it is actually a path. While walking through the grown up vines we had a few people trip and fall because of how grown up it is. We were really looking forward to this 3-family getaway and thought we had found "the place" for future trips, but was let down.

Pretty good as long as you don't have too much interaction with the staff of Tybee Vacation Rentals.

House was nice but you are NOT allowed to have any extra people there. My daughter got married on Tybee Island, and I wanted to have a small party for her afterward. Tybee Vacation Rentals told me it was out of the question and i'd better not do anything to decorate for a reception. Renter beware.
