We’re accessible year-round, and getting here is part of the adventure! The cabin sits on a county road that’s regularly plowed in the winter, but during snowy months (typically December–April), we recommend an AWD or 4x4 vehicle with good tire tread for a smoother, stress-free arrival. Mountain weather can shift quickly, so it’s always a good idea to check road conditions before heading out and plan accordingly. Colorado also has winter driving traction laws in place, so be sure your vehicle meets the requirements to avoid any issues along the way.
Speaking of snow, this is the Colorado Rockies so be prepared! We do our best to plow the area in front of the cabin and shovel the walkway. However, the remote nature of this place can make these tasks delayed. We do provide a shovel in case you need to clear a path.

Because the village of Twin Lakes is celebrated as a 'Dark Sky City,' everyone in town does their utmost to minimize the amount of exposed light outside their homes.
