"This was a beautiful unit a short drive from San Jose. The host offered us food and breakfast and messaged to check in if we were comfortable. We saw so many birds in the morning and evening. The pictures on the website don’t do justice to the amazing property. "

"We loved our stay here. The grounds of the property are beautiful and interesting with lots of birds and butterflies (note there is some small construction going on at the moment but this didn’t affect us). It was a relaxing and peaceful place for a few days with excellent hiking nearby to the waterfalls and river swimming pools. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the enclosed seating area at the front of each cabin, with fresh coffee provided, was a great place just to sit for a while....

"We stayed at Cerro Lodge on a birding trip. The personnel did not know about any matter related to birds or birding. They had no knowledge about local trails and didn’t have any idea that they should. Service in the restaurant was extremely slow and somewhat limited. The location was wonderful and scarlet macaws were abundant. There was a beautiful view from the restaurant and the pool was lovely. With knowledgeable staff it might have been a wonderful experience."

A wonderful breakfast plate is freshly made as you enter their dining area. You don't order anything, they just bring you an tasty Costa Rican breakfast - really one of my highlights of our trip. "My stay went smoothly! The restaurant has a variety of food options to choose from which I was glad & ended up being really good! They provided free shuttle/rides from the hotel to the airport, just let them know what time you’ll need it for & theyll have it ready for you! The staff were super nice & helped in anything I needed. The pool was very relaxing & worth taking a dip in."

"What a great place to stay right by the airport staff is so nice and helpful . Great kitchen if you cook and nice little garden spot in the back with a little fountain to listen to the water. Store is about 5 to 10 min walk for supplies. Very helpful and friendly staff great value would recommend every time."

"No hot water in the shower. Charged us an extra 15USD for the 2nd person in the room. Food was so-so and pricey. They offered fruit for the morning as we were leaving before breakfast was served. They gave us one small container - enough for one person. We’ve been staying here regularly when we arrive and prior to leaving Costa Rica over the years as have friends and family based on our recommendation. "the AC not working properly, the washbasin stuck, water dont run normally, in the kitchen i ask a gentleman , if i can get a disposable plate , or any kind , he refuse it , the manger came and talk to then and gives me a regular plate, and told me to bing back when i finished it. ( probably he was thinking the were taking foof to our room , he judge us , without know our intentions. ( plate was to cut a fruit in our room) !"

"Room was large, clean and comfortable. Very conveniently located close to the airport with continuous shuttle service. First stay, we could take advantage of the breakfast buffet with excellent variety and plentiful. Second stay had early check-out before breakfast so the receptionist arranged for a generous snack bag of food to go. Denny's restaurant is right next door for any other meals. Although we didn't have time to use it, there was a gym and outdoor pool."

"Cindy, the owner, was an excellent host. Very proactively engaged in our experience from the day we booked. The bungalows look into the forest and dining pavilion were new, modern, and well equipped. Cindy is also the chef, and serves and excellent breakfast and dinner. She also arranged activities for us, which was fabulous. The beds were comfortable and large, with an outside deck. The location is remote (which is the point of booking - for that tree canopy experience) and windy drive, so...
