Pros - location is great, 10 min walk to heart of Shibjya, while still being quiet with minimal noise. Close to multiple train stations and a bus right out the door.
The single room is quite spacious and the rooms are very clean, even though the hotel is old. The room also has a small wardrobe, which I appreciated and found this rare in Japan. The bed is soft and comfy. The staff are lovely and friendly.
Cons - The hotel is very basic and does not have any facilities like other hotels I stayed in Japan. The bathroom and shower are quite high to step into and would be difficult for short people or anyone with physical limitations. The air-conditioning does not work properly. If you are someone who prefers a cool room, this is not the place for you. I could not stay here in warm weather. There is a bad smell as soon as you walk into the foyer of the hotel. They also do not have scales to weight luggage, which is very inconvenient. As a result, I've had to buy extra weight for luggage in case.
Depending on what is important to you, this could be a great option due to location alone. I have not stayed in Tokyo before, so I can't compare facilities to other similarly priced hotels.
