"Literally home away from home! This hostel/hotel is made up of three converted walk-ups. There are hostel-style rooms with multiple beds, and there are hotel-style rooms with bed and full bathroom. The room I stayed in had a very tall window that could be opened. Logistically speaking: there is a Safeway within a few blocks that’s open late. If you prefer Trader Joe’s, that’s an easy walk in the other direction. Two large refrigerator/freezers will accommodate your groceries, which you label...

"Charming hotel and very friendly staff especially during check-in. My one and only complaint is how noisy my stay was. I highly recommend asking for a room far away from the house-keeping closet space because they are constantly in and out and shutting doors at all hours of the day. The doors to the rooms need to be sealed better but I understand it's an older hotel."

"Great location right on DuPont Circle. Beautiful building , our room on 9th floor had a great panoramic view. However, there is only one lift that goes up to 9th floor and the staff was uncaring that it took a very long time - we even have waited for almost 20 minutes one time. The main reason is because the lift is programmed only to pick up by floor ie pick up 4th floor bring down, then pick up 3rd floor then bring down etc much like a school bus that picks up each house to drop off at school...

"The front desk staff was very helpful during the check in process and changing of rooms. To no fault of theirs, we had to change rooms and I ended up in an hypoallergenic room which was perfect for me. Room was clean and had the most wonderful view. Room service was great."

It was strange finding that every window in the room was unlocked and the room was right off the fire escape. And, these were large windows that opened wide. I locked all the windows and I felt completely fine in the room...
