"Was debating between giving it a 2 star or a 3 star but had to give it a two. It wasn't all that clean. The tub was dirty, there was stuff on the shower curtain, hair all around in the floor and one long one in the towel, there was a big hole punched into the wall in the bathroom and there was no vent fan so every-time you take a shower the entire hotel room gets “moist.” The TV disconnected the last day we were there for some reason. "Sadly- things just didn’t go smoothly. Air conditioning in our room was not working- we were offered a fan the first day. However the next day I asked the maintenance guy himself and it was fixed in 2 minutes. Power went out in our room one morning from turning on the hair dryer. "We loved our stay at Fern River Resort. Tucked beneath the trees, it felt peaceful and fully immersed in nature. "The check-in process was mediocre at best. We were uncharged $11 per child since they weren’t on the Expedia reservation. We asked for more pillows and they did end up being them but originally told us 4 people in room and 4 pillows saying there were no more in the hotel. Even though two of th pillows looked to be more decorative. Rooms are good. Beds okay. Shower is fine. Nothing special. Good location (close to mystery spot and the board walk and downtown). "The location is the best part of this hotel. Across the street from the beach & boardwalk & walkable distance to the wharf. If you just want a room to crash in after a long day, this is your place. If you want to a place to feel like you’re a special guest, not it! Very basic, no extras, parking is challenging & $25 per day. Front desk is minimally staffed. I will not stay here again."

"We have stayed here before. They had updated their rooms since our last visit. The rooms are very nice and welcoming. The parking is tight if you have a large vehicle, but manageable. Wish they would coffee in the lobby."

The property is understaffed, it's just one person at the front, who cannot help you with anything. AC was weird does not really do the cooling. Compare to money I don't think its a good choice."
