This is the first negative review I've ever had to give. We stayed at The Golden Lion Hotel St. Ives. (13-14 Feb) We stayed in Room 20 which was very small and had the constant, very loud noise of the kitchen extractor humming. As an American, I don't get to have the pub experience. Everything - from the building to the food to the room to the surroundings to the staff - was absolutely charming. It was a wonderful experience.
