Across the street from the beach on a private one acre lot! Fool's Gold features Gulf views from the comfort of a newer home! The living area offers an open great room with large well stocked kitchen, spacious dining area, and comfy living room with a large flat screen TV and queen sleeper-sofa sectional. The front porch, right off the living area is great for watching the sunrise over morning coffee or catching a great sunset with afternoon drinks.

The master bedroom offers a king bed, flat screen TV, and private bath with double vanity and walk-in shower. There are two other bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a twin over full bunk bed. Both bedrooms feature flat screen TV's. A full bathroom and laundry room with washer and dryer are also located right across the hall.

There is an enclosed shower with hot and cold water located right under the house for rinsing off your sandy toe's. Also downstairs, there is a camp style grill along with extra seating and games for the family. The yard has plenty of room to lay towels or blankets down at night for some great star gazing. There is a deeded beach access boardwalk just two driveways down from the house! Walking time is about two minutes at the most.

We provide a few beach chairs, floats, beach toys and an umbrella for your days under the sun.

It's all about the outdoors on St George Island and our property has plenty of room for parking, so don't shy away from the idea of bringing your boat or golf cart. We are 0.5 mile from the St George Island State Park. The park has a boat ramp, lots of beach access points with paved parking and public restrooms. You can also buy a pass from the Park for fishing the East End Cut. It's a great spot! There are some other fun features on the island! The bike path is just across the street from Fool's Gold. The park with basketball court and playground is 0.7 mile away. Also, climb the 92 steps to the top of the historic St. George Lighthouse for breathtaking 360 degree view of our delicate ecosystem: Apalachicola Bay Estuary, St. George Sound, Gulf of Mexico, Little St. George Island and St. Vincent Island.

This was our third stay at Fool’s Gold. As in the past, everything was wonderful. Whenever we had a question Sarah was quick to respond. Great place to relax and enjoy the beach! We’ll be back again in the future.

Not what I was expecting.

Overall, the home was nice and well kept. The beach access was not convenient as we had a handicapped veteran with multiple knee replacements. There were far too many stairs. The biggest issue I had was the cameras installed for “safety” that were pointed directly towards the porch/front door & directly into the living room window. If this would’ve been disclosed I never would’ve booked this home. I understand having security cameras as I have them at my home… however… having a rental I feel everyone is entitled to privacy, or at least the option.

We absolutely loved our week here at Fool’s Gold! The beach access is only a short 2/3 minute walk from the house and the beach is gorgeous. Great communication from the host, she was quick with a response to any questions that came up.We got to see some dolphins playing in the water while sitting on the front porch. There were hundreds of dragonflies, several bats, tree frogs, and lizards too.The state park is just a couple minutes down from the house and is worth the fee to get in for the day. My only complaint is that I didn’t want to leave! Definitely will look into coming back here in the future!

Quiet and Comfy

Clean, comfy and close to the beach. The house has everything you will need. Plenty of dishes, utensils and towels. The covered parking under the house has an excellent outdoor shower for washing off after the beach. There were plenty of beach chairs and a few beach toys for the kids if you happen to need some. It was a short walk from the house to the private boardwalk that leads directly to the beach. Our only issue were the stairs that led up from the boardwalk (2 sets) and the stairs that led down to the sand. Just be mindful if you bring a cart, which we did. We just left to the side and carried what we had to the beach, so don’t overload your cart!

Great 4th on SGI!!

This house is just as advertised! It was perfect for our family of five. Very clean and furnished with all that we needed and more! So much room for parking under the house with plenty of room for cornhole while it was raining. Nice view of the Gulf when having morning coffee on the deck. Short 2 minute walk to a secluded beach. No need to get up before the sunrise to jockey for a spot to setup for the day! Great communication with the owner, especially when the storm knocks off the power and she calls the power company for you and lets you know when it should come back on! We loved our vacation and would definitely stay again!

Fools Gold was Wonderful

Our stay at Fools Gold was wonderful. This is a beautiful and clean home. The kitchen is well stocked, the bedrooms and beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are very clean. Communication with the owner was superior. The beach access is not described in detail. Beach access was described as only a short walk. This was correct, but the stairs involved to get over the sand dune and on beach was not mentioned. It is difficult to carry beach gear over both set steps. Luckily, the state park is just 1/2 mile down the road. They have several easily accesses to the beach, two with picnic tables and restrooms. Well worth the 6 per day per vehicle charge. We would definitely consider staying is this home again!

Nice beach getaway

We had a relaxing stay here. This property would be excellent for a family or larger group. Spacious and near the beach. We enjoyed the state park nearby. Host is quick to communicate and place was very clean.

The house was absolutely perfect! It sits on a beautiful wooded lot directly across from the ocean. Everything was up to clean and up to date. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils ,bowls ,pots & pans.

Perfect for our family!

We had an absolutely lovely stay here! Our first time to SGI but definitely not our last. The home is beautiful and had everything we needed. Beds were super comfy. The walk to the beach isn’t bad and the privacy at this home is unmatched. Wooded lot on 3 sides. The home has beach chairs and 2 kayaks as well. Our 2 teenagers enjoyed having their own rooms. Lots of spices already there so check the house before you go shopping. The frying pans and sheet pans have seen better days, but we made it work. We would absolutely stay here again!

Lovely ocean view

We are neighborhood ladies who were looking for a quiet beach trip to relax and kick back. We sat on the front porch with coffee/tea each day and watched the sunset on the front porch each night In between, we went to the beach, shopped and ate delicious food. Trip was everything we hoped for and we thank our host for all she did for us.

Great place to stay on St. George Island

This home was perfect for our trip, which included kids ranging from 2 to 10. We had a great time there and found the property well equipped with working appliances and comfortable beds. The walk to the beach was just as advertised and we would recommend this property for anyone interested in visiting St. George Island, especially if you are coordinating with a family camping at the State Park.

Perfect Place!

It doesn’t get much better than this property! This is our second time staying here, and we will definitely be back again. It’s super clean and it has everything you could ever need for a beach vacation! The owners have done an excellent job!

Wonderful family getaway!

We had a great stay at this property! Nice new'ish home. The house was in great shape. Kitchen fully stocked with everything we needed. We spent alot of time on the front porch looking out over the ocean, reading and just enjoying each other's company. Beautiful beach is short walk and easily accessible. It was a holiday week, but it did not feel crowded at all, which is what we were hoping for. Nice outdoor shower for when you return from the beach. Bike riding is good on St. George with dedicated path. State park at end of island where we stayed was beautiful! There is not an abundance of good restaurants on the island. Our best meals were in Apalachicola and Port St. Joe. Overall though, a great stay and we were grateful to have found this property and experience St. George!

Serenity Now

St. George Island is the perfect place if You like quiet, beautiful, beaches on a island not crowded with over development. Fools Gold is a beautiful home situated right across the road from the beach access. It’s literally a two min walk to a beautiful quite stretch of beach. The home is very nicely decorated, and very well maintained. Surrounded by woods and very private. Front porch is awesome for morning coffee and enjoying the sunrise while looking over the torques waters of the Gulf. One mile away is a beautiful Florida State park. My wife Says she could live in that house. The owners has always been very helpful and communicates well. Second time staying at Fools Gold and looking forward to going back.

Great Place

Everything was exactly as described. There was plenty of room and love being on the end of the island away from town. The walk to the beach was so easy. Sarah was great to communicate with. Would 100% recommend this property
