Excellent location, clean, comfortable

Could not have asked for a better location. Quick drive into downtown St Augustine without being in the middle of St Augustine traffic. Easy access to everything we needed -- groceries, great dining, etc. Condo is clean and comfortable. Front rooms quite cramped -- can't even open the closets fully -- but we didn't spend much time in them, anyway. Master bedroom very spacious by comparison with very nice en suite bathroom and especially nice shower. Appliances, some fixtures a little dated and in need of a refresh (beach air is hard on things). Awesome pool, and heated. Friendly, welcoming complex residents. We had a great time and would definitely recommend.

A Gem

We were pleasantly surprised with this condo since there isn’t much information on Vrbo about it above the basics. When we go to St. Augustine we always choose Anastasia by the Sea because of its location. Across the street you will find the beach, a little pizza joint, the best Italian ice stand and a donut shop. Restaurants right next door and the community center with the pier within 5 minutes. The condo was very nice with several beach towels, a cart, games and cooler provided. Kitchen was well stocked. The property management was a dream to work with. Very prompt response time and extremely courteous. We highly recommend this place.

Okay but lacking

We have stayed in this condo complex four years ago. The location is fantastic. However, this time prior to our arrival I asked to check in early if the unit was unoccupied. We were told that even if it was available and already cleaned we would be charged a $35 (plus tax) early check in fee. In the many years of staying at rentals and hotels, I have never been charged an early check in fee if the unit was unoccupied. Frustrating. When we arrived, the gate to enter the condo was broken and missing; anyone could just walk into the complex. Our unit, although newly renovated, lacked in cleanliness. The kitchen cabinets had food stuck to them. The silverware was dirty and had to be run thru the dishwasher prior to use. The refrigerator filter was blinking to be changed. There was a large pile of dark hair on the master shower drain. We also found a used piece of ladies lingerie in one of the bedroom drawers. Someone also started parking in our reserved space three days into our stay. I called ahead of time to ask about beach chairs and was told there would be two in the unit. There was not, only one. All in all, disappointed. Will not book here again.
