Large windows and the screened-in porch let you enjoy the natural surroundings year-round. This level also includes two bedrooms with queen beds and two full bathrooms for added comfort and privacy.
The lower level provides a quiet getaway with a third bedroom featuring a queen bed and dedicated workspace, along with a convenient half bath. A spacious living area with a streaming-ready TV offers a comfortable spot for movie nights or downtime. From here, you can walk directly out to the patio, where the creek and woods create the perfect backdrop for morning coffee or evening unwinding.

The trail-entrance to North Chickamauga Creek Gorge is very close: the park spans approximately 6,000 acres and features steep slopes, forested ridges and scenic river views.
For a memorable adventure, head to the Blue Hole trail: you’ll enjoy a beautiful natural swimming pool, large boulders, and scenic forest surroundings.
While the area is peaceful, it’s wise to remember the terrain is more rugged than a typical suburban neighborhood — rocks, hills, woods and natural features are part of the charm.

Evening noises: you’ll hear the creek, rustling leaves, and maybe wildlife — part of the creekside experience.

Wild swimming/gorge access comes with conditions (check creek levels/trail safety).
It’s a true nature setting — great for morning coffee on the porch, evening creek-sound serenity, and hiking by day.
You will need a car to access most areas.
Creek Access: The home sits directly on North Chickamauga Creek. Guests may access the water using the natural hillside path, which requires walking up and down a moderately steep hill—please use caution.
Driveway & Parking: The driveway is fairly steep, and a large boulder on one side can block visibility when exiting. We recommend using the side portion of the upper driveway to pull parallel with the main road before merging so you can clearly see oncoming cars. We do not recommend turning left when leaving the property. There is also a covered vehicle parked in front of the shed.
Wood Stove: The indoor wood stove is locked and not for guest use.
Outdoor Pizza Oven: The outdoor pizza oven is currently not operational.
Creek House & Wildlife: The small creek house offers a peaceful place to relax by the water, though it is not climate-controlled. As this is a wooded, creekside property, you may encounter local wildlife.
While we maintain excellent professional pest control, this home is located in a wooded, creekside setting. Because of the natural environment, it is possible to see an occasional insect during your stay. If anything concerns you, we are always happy to send pest control out as quickly as possible. However, please note that we do not offer refunds for sightings of insects, as they are a normal part of staying in a forest environment.
Payment Processing & Cancellation Policy Notice
Please note: Because we manage multiple properties, VRBO requires us to use our own payment processor. As a result, all payments for this reservation are processed securely through Stripe, not directly by VRBO.
Your total reservation cost is divided into two payments:
The first payment is processed immediately at the time of booking
The second payment is automatically processed 30 days prior to arrival
If your booking is made within 30 days of arrival, both payments will still be processed on the day of booking.
All charges will appear on your bank or credit card statement as Yellow Door Vacation Rentals.
This payment structure is a requirement established by VRBO for professional vacation rental companies and is not optional.
Cancellation Policy: Due to non-refundable payment processing fees charged by Stripe, all cancellations are subject to a 10% cancellation fee, regardless of when the reservation is canceled. This fee applies to any and all cancellations.
By completing your booking, you acknowledge and agree to these payment and cancellation terms. No Smoking: Absolutely no smoking or vaping of any kind inside the home. Any evidence of smoke of any substance will result in an immediate $500 charge, plus the full cost of remediation and additional cleaning. If you do smoke, please do so outside and away from the home and properly dispose of any cigarette butts or trash. Extra fees will apply for cigarette butts littered on the property.
We are on a septic system! Please, do not flush anything but toilet paper down the toilet. Trash bins are provided for feminine products and any fancy butt wipes you may use. Even if they say “flushable” they are not for our septic system. Please do not put solids down the disposal in the kitchen sink. ONLY use the disposal to clean up any remaining residue and use drain baskets to throw all solids in the trash.
No swimming in the pond at the front of the home! There is electricity for the waterfall, and it is not safe.
Please close the gate after accessing the creek.
Pets: Pets are welcome with a $100 non-refundable pet fee and a max of two pets. Please clean up after your pets and keep them off the furniture.
No Parties: Parties, events, and large gatherings are strictly prohibited.
No Fires: NO FIRES of any kind are permitted on the property. This includes bonfires, fire pits, the wood stove, and the outdoor pizza oven. Any fire will result in charges, and the fire department may impose additional fines.
Biohazard Cleaning Fee: For health and safety, a $100 cleaning fee will apply if vomit, fecal matter, blood, or other bodily fluids are documented by the cleaners on floors, bedding, furniture, or in common areas.
Excessive Pet Hair Fee: While we love hosting furry guests, excessive pet hair that requires additional cleaning beyond our standard turnover will result in a $60 additional cleaning fee. Thank you for helping us keep the home comfortable for everyone! 🐾

Property is even better in person. First walked into the house and it smelled nice and clean. Feels like you're underneath a rainforest canopy. We enjoyed sitting in the screened-in back porch especially at night when it's cooler and you can hear the relaxing sound of the creek running. It has a wonderful path down to the creek, with a garden. Because of the location, we did run into a snake just once on the pathway down to the creek and there could be animals going through the trash at night. We used the kitchen quite a bit and they had everything you need, including a nice Weber grill on the back porch. We are hot sleepers and couldn't get the thermometer below 70, but it actually would have been cooler if we opened the windows at night. Driveway is steep if you're not used to it. There is a Walmart and some fast food places a few miles away. Host was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend! This is such a neat place and won't disappoint. We plan on staying here again.
