The Space:
Heron View Cottage welcomes you to a sea-side setting on beautiful Roberts Bay in Sidney. As a designated bird sanctuary, it provides many opportunities to view nature at its best. Numerous other amenities in the area ensure a pleasant and memorable experience.

The recently built cottage offers 1400 sq. ft. of bright, open plan accommodation with scenic ocean and garden views. A spacious loft has a queen sized bedroom with a complete bath and a separate sitting area with stunning ocean and garden views. The main floor offers a modern kitchen, dining room, living room, full bath room and a sun room with garden door leading to the deck and garden. You will also find the second bedroom on the main floor with both ocean and garden views. The lofted ceiling of the cottage, lovely wood work accents, and large windows create a bright and open ambiance which is carried throughout the residence.

Sidney-by-the-Sea is a bustling town with cobble stone sidewalks, artistic statues, summer markets, street cafes', sea side walkways, etc. Other amenities include art galleries, numerous grocery stores, wine stores, pubs, library, great restaurants, book stores, recreational center, ocean water activities, and city amenities 20 minutes away in Victoria. Complete medical services are also readily available.

Heron View Cottage is the ideal spot to relax, rejuvenate, and create memorable moments for future memories.

Skylight bedroom made sleep terrible

We left after one night because of light streaming through the skylight in the upstairs bedroom Communication with EMR was very poor . They kept sending messages asking how we were doing even though we told them that we had had to leave to get some sleep. They showed no sympathy. I would never book with EMR again. They refused any compensation.

Meeting our new born grandson

We traveled to Sidney to visit our son’s family and our new grandson who was eight weeks old when we arrived.The house was amazing! Very comfortable! We were able to host dinner most evenings and enjoy the company of family and friends. The location was about a mile from downtown, quiet, and welcoming.We will be asking to reserve this house again for our next visit to Sidney. Highly recommend this house on dates we don’t reserve it…LOL!

A lovely get away!

We love staying at Heron View Cottage. I travel with my elderly mother and everything is easily accessible for her. It is clean and the location makes you feel like you're truly on vacation. It is convenient for the Butchart Gardens and downtown Victoria is also easy to get to. Jim is a lovely host.

Lovely cottage, great location

This is a beautiful cottage with lots of charm. Great location. Sidney is quaint town with lots of things to do. Very walkable town. The check in was easy, the owner was lovely to visit with. Beautiful garden and outdoor seating areas. Very clean and comfortable.

Lovely garden cottage

The accommodation was gorgeous, especially the surrounding gardens, pathways, and patio. The location is convenient to restaurants and shopping. It was very peaceful. The bedrooms were comfortable and adequately spacious; be aware the drapes are not heavy so the morning light enters the rooms early. It was nice to have two full baths. The kitchen is compact but functional. There were limited extras in terms of any food items ( no sugar for instance). The check-in was restrictive for our personal travel plans as we were up island and wanting to take the Mill Bay ferry which cannot be pre-booked. As a result of having to meet the greeter at a set time, we had to cut short our touring around and despite getting to the ferry early we missed getting onboard. We were car number 20 and 21, and they only take 19. This meant driving the Malahat and getting into Sidney an hour before our check-in time. The actual owner of the property was very friendly, and helpful and has a devoted green thumb and passion for his home and gardens.

Heron cottage by the sea

We would highly recommend this property. Beautiful setting, extremely clean and comfortable, with the perfect host!! The coffee pot broke and was replaced within hours. Will definitely choose to stay here again when we come back to Sidney!

The home and surrounding areas were just perfect, quiet and very convenient. We are a senior couple, travelling with my sister. It was lovely having two separate bedrooms with their own bathroom, and lots of seating options.

Outstanding Property

This property is one of a kind. Very well located with water views and very peaceful. A great spot to get away, relax and recharge. The kitchen is well appointed and we were able to cook our meals with ease. The upper loft area is the perfect place to read and work. We will be returning for a stay in the summer.
