" The first impression upon entering reception (it's in the pub) is that you feel like you've walked into the crime series Midsummer Murder and are looking to find Barneby. Our room was great, large bed, nice bathroom. You are greeted very warmly and uprightly, and you feel like you've been treated to a very good life. "The staff were very friendly and couldnt do enough to ensure our stay was comfortable. Our room was spacious clean and exactly like advertised on the web site. Everything was very clean. Bathroom and shower etc very good and spotless. We dined at the Indian restaurant next door the food was excellent and the service friendly and professional. Ths only sad thing was the little coffee shop is no longer there but I understand why. "

"We stayed here for our anniversary. We booked a garden suite where we could park outside and had a little court yard area with chairs to enjoy the summer sun. we had access to the gym and pool, steam room and sauna which was a lovely way to end our day. The staff were helpful and happy to help when we had any questions. Would definitely recommend and stay here again if we were in the area "

"Could do with grab rail by the bath and a mat for the bath as slippery when wet. Staircase handrails very sticky and need a good clean."

"Accomodation was clean, welcoming, beautiful, bed was super comfortable, had everything you could possibly need. They really did anticipate your every wish. Historically very interesting. Full English breakfast was incredible. Parking was easy and much appreciated. Staff - Greg, Sarah and Sam were all amazingly helpful with customer service being top of their mind. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!"

"Very comfortable room, friendly staff with very good service and good variety of meals with a specials board and carvery. Meals were reasonable and dinner times were busy and you need to reserve a table. Highly recommend it."

"The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Service is very good. The double room was very clean and tidy. Also quite, though you do, as someone else has mentioned previously, hear the church bells. Have to say it was not a problem for me. The room was very comfortable, a lovely view along Church Lane and across the stone cottages. It has the usual room facilities. The bathroom facilities were very good, especially the shower, as it was one of the few that I have used in hotels that did not leak...

"Nice place to stay - very convenient for events at Sparkford Hall as its walkable in 10 minutes - comfy family room which was spacious and had the essentials with a nice clean bathroom. Would stay again in the future as it was in quite a nice location."

"History on the doorstep with the rained castle. Complete with moat. Lovely pretty small village. Not an extensive menu. Very tasty and well cooked food. Very attentive service. Seating inside and outside by the stream. We had the basic twin bedded room. Which was as the room suggests basic. Very clean and comfortable bed. "
